1. Never said that, just said an honest days work. If your job doesn't notice you are gone for a day then it really isn't as important as a job where you are noticed you are gone. A store can't operate without running the register, a warehouse can't run without someone double checking loads, a car won't start if someone doesn't deliver the gas to the gas station, you would die if there wasn't a nurse at the ER. Plenty of honest jobs that are essential every hour of every day that don't require sweating.

  2. I don't think that is unfair either, I do think it is unfair that one group is paid fairly while the other struggles to afford food and a place to live and routinely requires government hand outs in order to offset that, despite the fact that companies could afford to pay them enough to not need to worry about it and still make hundreds of millions of dollars in profit every year.

  3. It's been firmly planted in my top 3 since I saw it many, many years ago. People always remember Kate Winslet and Jim Carrey but the film has a stellar cast all around. Kirsten Dunst, Tom Wilkinson, Mark Ruffalo and Elijah Wood are some heavy hitters as well.

  4. Mark Ruffalo has a lazy eye in the film, it isn't CGI either but a tumor causing it.

  5. I wanted to play factorio but was wary of getting sucked in.

  6. You made the right call. I knew 2 things about factorio before I played it. It was called cracktorio by the players and that it was super easy to pirate. I said what the hell and pirated it to see if I liked it. 12 hours later I alt tabbed to their website and bought a CD key and then right back to playing my pirated copy. Cracktorio is a hell of a drug.

  7. First weekend I played for 50 hours non stop. From Friday to Monday. I had to stop because of a sudden pain in the chest. Went to Hospital and it was muscular tension from being seated for so long. I'm not kidding.

  8. And I bet all you could think about was cracktorio.

  9. it standard practice.. make a bunch of announcements, build the value then the major stakeholders quietly sell off their shares and leave small players holding the bag as the business model inevitably fails. yep 3 years is the typical timeline.

  10. Which is exactly what 99% of crypto scams do as well. If only we had a word or legal term to call this. If only we didn't have hundreds of years of human history to teach us exactly what would happen. Anyway did you know I own the title to the Eiffel Tower? Maintenance fees are getting too much for my tastes and I'm looking to sell it. Oh and just by coincidence I also own the deed for the Golden Gate Bridge.

  11. "But think of the shareholders!" said the scorpion

  12. You mean the top level executives and the board of directors who have most of the stock?

  13. Life in prison is a good first step. I put forth an additional punishment, only fed and allowed water once every 10 days. If she dies well I'm sure her God will take care of her.

  14. Why would I pay reddit for "integrated advertising" when the "post" button is free?

  15. You wouldn't companies would pay to force their accounts and posts to be in your feed. Before the IPO there was already a few systems in place to help with that and it will get worse.

  16. But they do that for free too. Ever heard of Unidan?

  17. Earlier in production, somebody wanted to make a dark gritty sci-fi movie. Then somebody realized they were adapting, a bright, colorful property aimed at children and the movie was watered down into a confused mess.

  18. I can answer that. The husband and wife directors were previously working in commercials and TV, they were behind Max Headroom, and were actually pretty well respected with what they had made. They really wanted to make a movie based on their script but no one would fund it. Nintendo of Japan wanted a movie but didn't have the know how to make it so they had Nintendo of America work with some producers to get a Mario movie made at a certain budget. The two directors were previously known for doing some good work on budget and weren't demanding a huge salary and were given creative control and a script.

  19. So to see if I understand this, the people who took the job to make a Mario movie werenā€™t interested in making a Mario movie.

  20. No, but the damage doesn't show up for at least a year so the CEO gets a bonus for the short term benefit

  21. Which is why stock prices need to be heavily regulated and tied to their median income and the value of their assets.

  22. Relay for reddit. Yes you need to pay a subscription, otherwise the developer is unable to pay the horrendous reddit fee. But it is a very fine app and ad free.

  23. Or, hear me out, you pay nothing and use the old website. What happens when they get rid of that? No more reddit of course! Always fun to see company's innovate themselves into uselessness.

  24. Yeah, I'd never have tried this on the PS2! I was on PC with a 2nd screen with the Gamefaqs guide up and still missed stuff from time to time.

  25. We probably followed the exact same guide though! If I'm playing an old JRPG I typically use the same guides as I did back in the day because they are still better than any recently made guides.

  26. Yeah it was a proper old full-text guide off Gamefaqs!

  27. If it was titled FFX-2 100% guide then yup same one.

  28. More astronauts are from Ohio than anywhere else. The joke is that Ohio is so awful that people from Ohio wanted to get as far as possible away from it, space is pretty far away.

  29. Fun gameplay elements. like no fast travel. got it

  30. Oh damn you have to experience the world and the game more.

  31. I couldn't get my wrapped to work this year but here is

  32. It kinda looks like you're just posting this to every delivery-related subreddit to get people to sign up with your referral code...

  33. I guess the crypto bullshit he subscribed to hasn't gone to the moon and his diamond hands are failing him.

  34. Not sure if you know this but RTS games don't get any benefit from that stuff because you aren't going to be close enough to anything for it to matter.

  35. What's your point? That is even older than the Dee Barnes stuff I think.

  36. 2015 is not older than 1991. Edit: Down voted for absolutely proving the above comment is 100% wrong. Don't ever change reddit.

  37. Heā€™s playing baseball not committing suicide

  38. Wouldn't nothing to lose be a more apt song to go out on? I mean it is what I picked, did not succeed.

  39. Would have been hilarious if your reply here was just "No."

  40. Souls games, I'm not sure why everyone turned around on the idea of waiting for a stamina bar to fill is a good game mechanic. Also I hate having magnets in characters feet, meaning your character is locked into an animation until it has ended. I'd prefer a game more like the original God of War for the PS2 where it was challenging and required good reflexes but didn't have a stamina bar nor force your character to sit through a 3 year long animation if you didn't want it to.

  41. There was a post where someone commented that they tried to feed their chinchilla cheese. My response was "Uhhhhh what?" Thankfully the chin did not want anything to do with it.

  42. I've replayed that game numerous times and without fail during the scene at the lake in Macalania Woods, it is raining outside. Happened the first time I played it and on one of my more recent playthroughs with the HD version, it was a perfectly cloudless day when I started playing. A few hours later and I got to that scene only to hear rain hitting against my window.

  43. "Alongside the interactivity, the game includes narration from Ryan, Amy, and other family members, as well as recordings such as voicemails that they had made during their time with Joel. The scenes include cards, letters, and other mementos of support for the Greens, sent by people who had experienced similar losses in their life"

  44. I'm getting weird vibes from that account. The account is 6 months old but all of the posts are from the last 11 hours and also includes a good ole t-shirt spamming post. I don't think that account is genuine.
