TIL that a "Silent Man" in the UK repeatedly gets arrested for standing on one road to block traffic. He never speaks a word, not even to paramedics, police, the court, or his own lawyer. Ongoing for more than a decade. Everytime he is released, he repeats the crime and remains completely silent.

I love how people in here are getting mad over a role play situation
This isn’t a sub for role-play. It’s for genuine attempts at establishing a micronation. Pretend, fictional or fantasy worlds, wars, and countries are better posted elsewhere.
Out of the micronational context:
The eagle and Cossack could also serve as supporters, leaving just a plain striped shield.
Spectacular effort! Well done!
Dunland has land and we grow a lot of our own produce that we use for self-sufficiency, but functioning independently from the rest of the world is a little way off yet.
Dunland was founded on 20 March 2021 but I’ve been involved in micronationalism a lot longer than that (since 2004).
Just checked, the flair is under "view more".
Maybe need to shuffle the flairs around to move that one up! Thanks for letting me know.
Btw what's the "lore" tag for
For if you want to share the history of your micronation. I should probably rename that to make it clearer!
Attention everyone replying — some of the external links in the replies are causing Reddit’s spam filters to remove comments. If yours is one of them,
I do wonder, it’s almost like I’m English.
The English coat of arms over the flag of Dorset did make me think you’d be English…
Im not from Dorset tho.
Didn’t say you were, just suspected use of an English county flag might suggest you’re English.
Mod Bot just auto-removed my post asking for micronationals to give me all their links and summary of their "elevator" pitch as some sort of "cross sub-reddit advertisement" which is completely innacurate. Not sure why this happened. Could there have been a human hand behind the bot moderation? I'm not aware of how modding works.
Not sure why the automod removed that one but I’ve approved your post. In future, use the modmail feature to report any problems/wrongly removed posts (so all mods get an alert, not just one mod). Thanks.
I was wondering if it is against the rules to bring up controversies in the micronational community and controversial micronations. I understand that you want to keep your sub squeaky clean, so I was curious about how you'd feel about it.
Feel free to message the moderation team with specifics, if you like. (Some banned micronation names are removed by the automod so asking within posts and comments might get automatically removed.)
Given how against the pedestrianisation of Norwich city centre he was, I can only imagine Alan Partridge was driving one of the cars after devouring one too many Toblerones
That’s who I immediately thought of when I read that…!
Fantastic! Glad to hear it.
Unique looking flag. What does it symbolise?
Dunland – ‘Dun’ from Old English dūn meaning rolling hills plus land. Essentially it means ‘land of rolling hills’. Which we are.
Can you please link to the online museum? Thank you.
Looks like it’s a Facebook group. Should probably be able to find it by searching if you’re on there.
There’s clearly a ‘Lore’ post flair which this falls under; it isn’t ’News / Announcement’.
The traditional English anthem of
‘Mollitia’ in Latin doesn’t mean ‘resilient’, it means ‘flexibility’ or ‘softness’; literally the opposite of resilience, in fact. A closer word for resilience is ‘resiliēns’ which means ‘rebound’.
I don't know if there might be a mistake, but I'm using Google translate and it says that resilience is Mollitia.
Thought that might be the case. Google translate is notoriously inaccurate, especially with Latin (it can’t conjugate properly, for example).
This was in 2009 under the last Labour government. He appealed the ban and it was overturned, allowing him entry to the UK (which is did in 2010). Wilders most recently visited the UK in 2018 (maybe more recently).
Admittedly, there can be a fine line between micronationalism and simulationism and people can have different definitions of both.
In the US at least, the week starts with Sunday.
The UK is a bit mixed. Some say it starts on a Sunday, others a Monday. Employers are as divided.
I’ve never seen a Sunday start in the uk
Think it was more common in the past but it’s still quite common for private sector businesses and employers to use. The UK government still starts a week on a Sunday in some circumstances but I think they’ve mostly shifted to Monday in recent decades.
This guy posts this but artharia can't post here cause larp lol
And yet, you’ve just posted… ;)
Since when were micronations ever taken seriously? Lmao
Others perhaps don’t/won’t take them seriously but some micronationalists are pretty serious.
Why is nearly every fuckin micro, communist? Have yall never actually looked at what works and what doesn't or do yall just pick the shit people peer pressure ya into?
The idealism / inexperience of youth, is my guess. ;)
Sorry to hear this. Though it is part of life, loss is never easy. All the best to you and your micronation at this time.
