1. This semantic change was made intentionally to cast opponents in a more negative light.

  2. Yep. Equivalent to them saying someone is "anti-life".

  3. It’s not even really a conspiracy to people who watched the game and basically admitted to by the refs.

  4. That the refs favor certain QBs. Brady and Mahomes are the most recent (and Cam Newton was on their shit list). Example— Mahomes drawing a flag for a late hit while he was still clearly in bounds and running with the ball.

  5. Actual roughing stats showed Newton didn't get shafted, at least statistically, compared to other QBs.

  6. LaDanian Tomlinson. 8/12, 143 yds, 7 TD, 0 INT for his career.

  7. I don't like 'No Time to Die'. It's soooo slow and soft and has no chorus. If nothing else, 'Die Another Day' at least has a beat.

  8. I'm with you, and I also don't like that overly put-on breathyness.

  9. People go over the top, have stupid reads on made up alien biology that they know nothing about, and have issues with space age in a fantasy show, even though in the show's world no one has a problem with that, so it's a non issue.

  10. The idea that all relationship ages of any sapient extraterrestrials need to map to humanity's typical growth rates is pretty myopic.

  11. Roger Moore: the inspiration for Rachel Green on Friends.

  12. You could argue that every single year of his career he was both a top 5 help defender and a top 5 one on one post defender.

  13. rudy gobert is about to have 4 dpoys while tim duncan and AD have zero.

  14. And Duncan deserved Gasol's DPOY more than LeBron did anyway.

  15. of course! Deserved the chance. Bad day for CFB when y'all weren't selected.

  16. Except maybe the Bengals just because they are pretty happy with Chase (although I think there's a solid argument that they'd be better off long term with Sewell, in the end there's no way to really know and they certainly made a reasonable pick even if it wasn't "the best").

  17. Would the bengals take Penei Sewell right now? Not in a pick swap like that but would they want him on their team?

  18. Oh for sure they'd take him in a heartbeat if it was just a case of "add him to the roster".

  19. TND is the single best use of the Bond Car outside of the original Goldfinger.

  20. Also gotta love the old jalopy from For Your Eyes Only.

  21. Yeah, having grown up in a dysfunctional family, with a particularly awful relationship with my father, and with no positive, loving male role models of any kind, I felt at the time like the relationships between Ben, Jake, and Joseph were just so unrealistic, just downright fanciful. I felt the writers must have been trying to use these characters as some kind of therapy. I didn't realize that sons & fathers actually can & do have truly loving, appreciative relationships like that. Ben's seemingly incessant gushing over Jake, especially in "Explorers" and "The Visitor", made me roll my eyes so hard when I was in my 20s. Now that I'm a parent, it's like a gut punch.

  22. Stuff like that is why I feel like Star Trek isn't just "optimistic", it's "aspirational".

  23. Brooks basically was a father figure to Lofton in real life, so that chemistry is legit.

  24. Didn't know that, but now that I do it doesn't surprise me.

  25. I'll never understand the hype for Gavin. The immature boy that keeps annoying the girl because he likes her troupe he starts with is so unattractive and annoying, and I don't find him particularly handsome either.

  26. Agreed - his best quality was that he was wise enough to realize the Ross / Rachel dynamic was screwy and that his best move was to back away and get out.

  27. Lawerence Phillips.. dude was a stud in college high draft pick but his domestic violence charges lead him to jail.

  28. I wonder if it would have been different had Nebraska thrown him out (he attacked one of their other athletes too). Probably not, but you never know.

  29. Every running back has two linemen with brooms sweeping the field in front of him as he runs to the goal line.

  30. Have a fully formed "goal" for kicks. So instead of just needing to be between two poles and above the cross bar, you also can't be too high.

  31. That'd be nice to end those once a season deals where the ball partially passes over the top and the ref just has to guess if that means it was good or no good.

  32. Doesn't number 3 contradict number 2 a bit, since in 2 it helps if your team is worse without you, and in 2 it hurts if your team is worse without you?

  33. I'd have to think about it more but at least initially I like it.

  34. It seems to make the end of season matter more, but it's really just a farce. Over half the league made the post season before the play-in. Now it's 20 out of 30 teams. Why even bother with the regular season at that point?

  35. It makes it matter less if anything. Teams are now playing to see what sort of extra shot they get, rather than playing to avoid elimination.

  36. In fairness Robin’s worst pales in comparison to the rest.

  37. Also just a horrible choice there. People were clearly letting their Barney-Robin Shipping Goggles get in the way.

  38. Yea, because people killing others in self defense hide and destroy evidence that would prove their self defense case.

  39. Where is your evidence that the killing was not in self-defense? The jury was all convinced very easily and decisively since everything in the case pointed to this being the clear-cut situation.

  40. Ray Lewis case - 2 people murdered, bloody clothes and murder weapon tossed

  41. https://www.reddit.com/r/ravens/comments/93f36s/here_are_some_fascinating_notes_about_the_dropped/

  42. It's also weird to think that college football is older than the margherita pizza. Pizza and Pasta is what most people think of when they think of Italian food. There's no more traditional pizza than margherita.

  43. It is, but the same can be said of pretty much any episode. Tapestry is much less impactful if you don't know Picard, Measure of a Man is just a bit of highbrow allegory if you don't know Data, etc.

  44. Yeah I wouldn't think those two would be good first-time episodes either.

  45. Yeah sure, probably shouldn't have just hit-n-run with that comment anyway (but I had to get back to work...)

  46. You also tried to take us with you to the PAC 12.

  47. No we didn't. DeLoss Dodds made the offer to David Byrne to split the network because he wasn't sure we could do it on our own, and Byrne turned us down. Three years later, when the deal was mostly done, Byrne came crawling back trying to get the same offer and Dodds told him to fuck off.

  48. I'd take it over Spy Who Loved Me, which is a pretty controversial opinion round these parts. Not sure it's top 3 material, but I'm also not sure I could pin a top 3 down beyond Casino and Goldeneye. I'd probably say it's a top 5.

  49. Seems reasonable and I agree on Spy Who Loved Me. I like it, but Agent Triple X, despite starting out super badass, goes really downhill as the film goes on, which detracts from it to me. Compare to say, Wai Lin, who still gets captured and needs to be rescued by Bond at some point, but remains utterly kickass the whole time (after all, Bond gets captured in plenty of different movies as well).

  50. Yeah, I thought he was a great overall manager and administrator. For some examples, he benched Manning when he was obviously hurting the team in 2015 and maximized Osweiler. Osweiler did ok, but he was super inconsistent, and was especially bad at everything pre-snap, like running a no huddle offense, making pre snap reads, getting people lined up in best places, directing the offense, urgency to line up, etc. it was yet another amazing decision to bring him back in at the last game of the season to see if the trade off of better leadership was worth better ability, and it was. Peyton Manning came back as a game manager and he was great at that even with greatly reduced ability. Good coaching is about making adjustments to new information as the season and game goes on. Also, 2015 Broncos were way better prepared for the Super Bowl than 2013 Broncos.
