Could I get the short version of why he was impeachable since the day he took office?
Oh, that's easy...he was impeachable since day one because he's a Republican, but that's not even the worst offence...the final coffin nail was that he beat Hillary, and she was SUPPOSED to win!! After all, it was HER turn!!
I get that you hate liberals, and fair enough, they suck - but it's more complex than this. You can't seriously argue that a president would be targeted for impeachment from day one because he's a Republican.
Well, maybe not impeachment, no, but it seems like from very early on in his presidency, there were investigations started and deep digging into his background and watching every little move he made, waiting for him to make a mistake so they can pounce. That's just my feeling, of course..and, for the record, I don't hate liberals at all..most of my friends and family are liberals, and I understand they have a different point of view that I do...it doesn't make them bad people...
How the hell is this news?? Who really gives a crap about this? Besides, I thought we weren't supposed to care about people's skin color....oh, right, just Trump's, I forgot...
I'm a bit torn about this, but I'd love to see an updated sequel or even a remake of 'It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World'. The reason I'm torn about it is that this is such a great comedy with an amazing cast, and I'm not sure if a sequel or remake would do it justice. I know there was once talk of a sequel, but it's been in development hell for years and years...

Of course it doesn't...we're in the liberal la-la land of
Funny how so many people here criticize the fact that this guy was a former "coffee boy", but when AOC was elected, I'm willing to bet a lot of those same people thought it was soooo wonderful that a former bartender is now in congress. Personally, I don't care what a person did for previous work, just as long as they can do the job they're currently hired to do, but just pointing out the hypocrisy. And why did they put quotes around the words coffee boy??
You're absolutely right. In this day and age, just about anyone can get a job working for the white house so long as they're super loyal. Loyalty is supposed be good, right? I bet those same people thought it was soooo wonderful when AOC was loyal to her constituents. And why did they call him "unqualified" but without quotes? He's never had a job as an envoy before. How do they know he's not spectacular?
Exactly!! And thank you, thank you for understanding my point, too. For a while there I was beginning to think I wasn't making myself clear (see other responses lol), but thankfully you got it. And yes, you're right..they DON'T know what kind of job he's going to do, but dismiss him as unqualified before he even starts work. What ever happened to giving someone a fair chance??
they are. ICE is evil and should be disbanned now. fuck ICE bunch of shitty pigs.
Yeah, how DARE they go around arresting people who break the law....shocking!! :)
Don't really care how much Lex Luthor donated to charity either....
That would be quite an achievement, since Lex Luthor is fictional...
So...question...I realize that this thread is pretty much reserved for Trump haters, and anything that comes out of his mouth is immediately met with verbal pitchforks and torches, but why is this such a controversial subject? Only 30 countries in the world support birthright citizenship (and NONE of them are European countries, by the way). In my opinion, if birthright citizenship does not include offspring of illegal immigrants, it might cut down dramatically on dangerous illegal crossings since that particular 'benefit' would no longer be an option, and so would perhaps encourage immigrants to apply for citizenship the legal way. So, if it is such a 'racist' and 'zenophobic' suggestion to abolish birthright citizenship, then I guess most of the countries of the world are racist and xenophobic, too...
https://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/amendmentxiv
Thanks for the link to what the 14th Amendment says, but it doesn't really answer my question. From my understanding, the 14th Amendment was primarily meant to make former slaves (and thus their offspring) legal citizens of the United States, and didn't mention anything about the children of illegal immigrants. Again I ask, why would it be controversial to at least alter the amendment to NOT include the offspring of illegal immigrants for birthright citizenship?
I ran out of gas! I got a flat tire! I didn’t have change for cab fare! I lost my tux at the cleaners! I locked my keys in the car! An old friend came in from out of town! Someone stole my car! There was an earthquake! A terrible flood! Locusts! IT WASN’T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!
Bahahahaha...love the Blues Brothers reference!! Used that same line myself on many, many occasions...nice work...
Isn't inciting violence a criminal act?
It certainly is...you'd never know it, though, by the amount of open death threats and calls to violence we all see on this thread every day...mainly against Trump, but others as well...anyone who posts garbage like that needs to have their head examined...all it takes is one nutcase to read that crap and decide to make it their life's ambition...
No worse than people on here threatening the POTUS which is a federal crime in and of itself.
That's one thing that's always baffled me about this political thread...we see all kinds of warnings at the top, telling us that this is for civil discussion and no advocating violence, etc., etc., and yet I see ALL kinds of people on here threatening the president's life (and worse) and their comments never get "reviewed" by the mods...guess it's ok to threaten someone's life, as long as that person is Trump...
It'll be a cold day in hell before I apologize to ANYONE I haven't personally wronged...period...
Quite a few people on here are forgetting (or ignoring) the word "alleged" in this headline. If there's evidence to prove heinous crimes like this, I don't care what letter a person has in front of their name - they need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. By the way, the word "alleged" applies to Clinton, too, in case any of you are thinking I'm making excuses for Trump. Politics has nothing whatsoever to do with it.
This thread loves to claim opinion as fact. An ambassador from another country wrote down his feel feels and you all chomp at the bit. It's hilarious
It is, and it's not at all surprising. This is Reddit, after all, where feelings and opinions are often treated as solid fact...oh, and only when it's slanted toward the 'orange man bad' narrative, of course...it's almost Pavlovian...lol..
If you have been through the legal system and have been served papers to leave I don’t see a problem with deporting people. This takes years and this doesn’t happen over night. This is just the law idk why people are making a huge deal about this
They're making a huge deal about it because it's Trump...just like the people comparing the detainment facilities to the killing camps of the Holocaust...pretty sure federal agents aren't going down to these Central American countries, pulling people from their houses, burning their neighborhoods and then dragging them to the Mexico/US border with extermination as the final objective. While I'm sure the conditions in these places aren't five star to begin with (they weren't designed to be long term housing) and there are undoubtedly issues with overcrowding and underfunding (which I have a sneaking suspicion was the purpose of the 'surge' all along), the people that are there now (as well as the ones on their way) are there of their own volition. So those people should stop trying to make it sound like the exact opposite...
I think it's so funny when conservatives get pissed about being "censored" for being bigoted on social media and private platforms. Like social media platforms are letting you use it and legally can kick off and block whoever the fuck they want
Actually, the fact that social media are considered to be "platforms" means they can't just kick out and ban whoever they want just because someone's political speech doesn't agree with their own. Now, of course, there are people who call others to violent action, and that's a different story - those people should be banned for obvious reasons. If social media wants to start banning people because of differing political ideals, then they should be considered "publishers", which have the right to block and ban whoever they please. They can't have it both ways, though.
So what? We just let the migrants sit in the desert?
Not at all...they could install one of those "take a number" machines leading out of the country and then they can come one by one when their number is called..."Now serving number 8,764,302.."..lol
So funny (but not surprising) that so many people on here jump to the conclusion that this moron is a Trump supporter...he may very well be, don't get me wrong, but who really gives a crap about his politics? Republican or Democrat, it doesn't really matter, does it? He's a lone crazy dumbass...
It matters because when it's a trump supporter it is just "a random lone crazy dumbass," but if he was a liberal it would be "oh look at the tolerant non violent left" or " ALL liberals are actually crazy killers"
I don't know if he was a Trump supporter or not, and it doesn't matter if he is, as that wasn't my point...my point is that some people (both liberal AND conservative) tend to use a lone idiot's politics to paint the entire "opposition" in a bad light...
This is a bullshit article
Amen to that...one of the biggest liberal rags in the country, and people expect it to be unbiased? The article is basically op-ed disguised as news, and Rolling Stone is seemingly trying to stir up shit by appealing to the already festering hate the libs have for Trump...if you don't believe me, take a look at some of the cruel and threatening posts on this thread...
Let me guess once again America's going to pay the most while everyone else barely meets the requirements, or doesn't meet the requirements at all. China will continue to polute. I hope the US doesn't sign this shit
I hope not either...but of course, you know that if the U.S. doesn't sign it, people here will be jumping all over Trump, saying he doesn't care about the environment, blah, blah, blah...and if the U.S. does sign it, we'd more than likely be stuck into paying for most of it (as you said) and getting the closest scrutiny while other countries can still do business as usual without any backlash whatsoever...
[удалено]
So, I'm confused...it's dehumanizing to call people who enter a country unlawfully 'illegal alien' (which, in my opinion, is an accurate description of their situation), but not just as dehumanizing to call them 'migrants'? What's the difference? Would the term 'illegal migrant' be satisfactory?
[удалено]
I'm not confused at all...people who are trying to immigrate into this country legally aren't the ones the article is talking about, and aren't the ones who are sitting in these "camps", so I think it's pretty safe to assume they're talking exclusively about the ones crossing illegally...so I'm not sure what you mean by "negative connotation of illegal", since crossing another country's border without permission and by not going through the proper channels is definitely illegal, by anyone's standards...and I don't see how it's dehumanizing to point out they'd broken the law...it's fact...
I find it utterly hilarious that he thinks he can lecture us on what America is. We know exactly what we are - we are a nation built on legal immigration, not on mobs of people pouring into our country unchecked and unvetted. It enrages me at the same time because Mexico has very strict immigration laws, but find it ok to let illegals from Central America use Mexico as an interstate directly into the US...in my opinion, that's dangerously close to aiding and abetting criminals. Then Mexico started complaining because those same people they were happily pushing along and who didn't make it into the US aren't leaving Mexico, saying they're a drain on their resources, etc, etc...gee, really???? Now I guess they know how it feels...
Just as a thought exercise, I wonder what would happen if we started sending thousands and thousands of people to Mexico illegally...of course, one of the problems with that is finding thousands and thousands of people who would actually WANT to go...
My thought on this is that the whole investigation was merely a complex smear campaign against Trump. Think about it - even if the investigation had actually found evidence of collusion or obstruction, they would be unable to indict Trump criminally until he left office (if he makes it that far without getting impeached, that is). And, of course, Trump would never be elected to a second term under those circumstances anyway. BUT - if no evidence was found (which is what happened), the seeds of doubt would still be planted in every American's mind (did he do it? Was there a cover up? Etc...etc...) and would drive down his approval numbers so badly that Congress would be emboldened to proceed with impeachment. Win-win, right? It's yet to be seen if Trump's approval eventually plummet, but don't think for a minute that the people responsible for this investigation didn't look at the outcome from both sides, and how to spin the results in their favor, no matter how it turned out. Let no one forget how masterful some politicians are at covering their own asses and acting morally superior and righteous - but, at the same time, giggling into the palms of their hands at how stupid they think the American public are for believing them...that should bother us all.
You're ignoring all of the crimes that they did find and prosecute
Yes, that's true, but none against Trump, from my understanding, which was the focus of the investigation all along - to get Trump out of office, no matter what...
So, does that mean the other 97% drive sports cars or lifted trucks with loud exhausts??
The little tags on blow driers that warn you not to use it while in the shower. You just KNOW that at least one mouth-breather (maybe several) tried that at some point.
