1. Florida summers aren't even hot. Take your gatorade and git!

  2. I have had the pleasure of doing a site visit on a roadway project when asphalt was being placed in Jacksonville in August. I assure you it was hot as fuuuuuuck. DeSantis get get bent.

  3. That google homepage from around 2010. You could customize it and have interactive stuff like a koi pond and games or something

  4. Oh wow that much in one year would be amazing.

  5. They grow so damn fast... Don't need a huge amount of water either. They do lose leaves in winter but the vines get pretty dense.

  6. The belt is around his thighs. He has to keep grabbing the waistband to keep them from falling. Seems like a poor choice of outfit for criming. How are you going to run from the cops with a belt constricting your thighs?

  7. You can park at the stations. Usually first 24 hours is free and then it's paid per day. At least it used to be.

  8. As long as you're in district. If your plate is registered in an area outside the district, it's always paid.

  9. I think it is worth noting that “girls” is the colloquial counterpart to “guys” in a lot of casual conversations. “Gals” never really took off.

  10. I somewhat disagree about guys/girls. But I tend to either be y'all, all y'all, folks, or if women only, ladies.

  11. Ya, that's why I don't want to use women. To me it's associated with very traditional relationships. They say once they marry they become a woman. I see it as becoming subordinate to a traditional man.

  12. This is definitely a cultural thing. More evangelical Christian Americans probably feel this way, too, but I think for the majority of Americans, it's just a maturation process, and has nothing to do with marriage or subordination. That's the viewpoint I'm coming from.

  13. I've been told no PTO for 6 months, but that was 15 years ago and no one has ever done it since.

  14. I laughed years ago when gramps was watching the five that the lady looked just like Kennedy from MTV. My laughter dried up pretty quickly when I realized it WAS Kennedy from MTV.

  15. Gramps is gone now but I occasionally check to see if she's on the five so I can judge her. Remember being able to freely judge? Kids today just embrace posers! Pfft! 🤣😂🤣

  16. I found it last week when the bridge was closed, but I was too lazy to google again. Thanks for sharing!

  17. I am a civil engineer with over 20 years of experience and I have never done a year in the field. Most of my colleagues haven't either. I'm not going to say it wouldn't be helpful, but not at the expense of your health. I have visited sites for my projects under construction and it can be unbearably hot (I started my career in Florida, trust me when I say you do NOT want to be around crews placing asphalt in July).

  18. Do you have any morals that might keep you from properly doing tasks assigned to you? LOL

  19. as long as you have evidence that you were not at fault for the accident, I don’t think that matters as long as you have comprehensive, of course. That’s what uninsured motorist coverage is for.

  20. This is what I don't understand about the average person. You ARE going to pay taxes. It's going to happen. Why do people throw such a tantrum when that tax money goes back to their community, but no one bats an eye at corporate subsidies???

  21. Because people, despite all evidence to the contrary, seem to think that corporations have the best interest of the public at heart. That the motivation is to help people and innovate and solve problems and whatnot.

  22. I don’t work for them, but have you considered Amica? They are a mutual insurance company meaning they are owned by the people that buy insurance from them. In other words, if you’re a customer, you’re an owner.

  23. My husband was air force and USAA is never even close. I'll look at amica, though. Thanks for the tip!

  24. Please don't recommend this. It's terrible, which is why there are literally hundreds of posts in this sub from people saying "i did the water drop test and now all my food burns and my pan is covered in polymerised oil". Note in your video her test food is mushroom, and they're one food that never sticks in stainless pans.

  25. If you sell the house, and ADU, you have to pay to live somewhere. And maybe you can get a house all cash with the equity. Or you live in the ADU and the entire mortgage is paid by renters and you no longer have to pay for a place to live.

  26. The old blame the wife for my blatant lying trick.

  27. After getting an engineer.

  28. Kind of assumed they would be a package deal. Of course, knowing contractors I shouldn't have made that assumption.

  29. It's not a coleus. The leaf shape is wrong. Google might have thought that from the color.

  30. I think they could both work, so consider comfort. The chairs with cushioning will be more comfortable if you spend a lot of time in them.

  31. I'm so jelly. I had a TI-68 that I got in either 1994 or 1995 and the pixels started going out on it about 10 years ago. I had to give it up and start using the shitty Casio I bought for the PE.

  32. I did drop it about 15 years ago and one single row of pixels went out on the screen but other than that it still works fine.

  33. I've been considering getting a "new" TI-68 from ebay, but I don't do math as much anymore, so why bother? Of course, then I take the CA survey exam and remember (1) how shitty the Casio is (it doesn't like to register multiple of the same number keyed in in a row) and (2) that I don't know how to do all the "stuff" (I used the statistics, linear algebra, and equation solver on the TI-68 all the time. The Casio does those things, I just don't remember how. And, as previously noted, I don't do the math as much anymore).
