He went to Florida when Tebow was winning titles for his doctorate, which is all he recalls, on an education visa and then went back home for 15 years before coming back to the States.
This is a team trying to do something no one in the modern era has done. Has Back to back titles, something that not even Bama has done in the playoff era.
He was fine outside of the 3 fumbles. I’ll chalk up one to a bad snap at the 1. The sack fumble was what it was. The one walking in was dumb but also a rare one.
I guess we're stuck with Ridder another week with commentary like "I've got to hold on, I've got to be situationally aware, I've got to get the snap better, etc."
Matt Ryan can be a great commentator I’m sure but I’d hope selfishly that he wants to coach (sure he does with the pics of his kids’ games) and the hope would be he returns as an OC using the Shanahan system here, under a Shanahan disciple type.
Yeah the big runs aren’t there in the ground game like last year, which is mind numbing considering AS has a better backfield than last year and still his run blocking scheme in place.
Fields can't throw the ball which is the main problem the offense has. The offense wasn't good with Mariota running around. Ridder's had two 300 yard games now, but he's throwing picks.
Fields can throw the ball enough to keep them honest. He has a stronger arm than Ridder as well. Hindsight is 20/20 but my point was he initially fit this offense AS wanted and was there for the selection without giving up anything.
Eh, you say he fits the offense, but they passed on him, so Smith clearly must have not felt that way. I don't see that Smith has shown us anything that would imply he'd make Fields a quality QB. He had Mariota who sucked and Ridder sucks too.
Had it as the silent button but I rarely take it off silent so I changed to the camera. I take pictures every day for work at work, so it made more sense.
Yeah give me MPJ, Maye, Sanders even over this guy. The ego is too big and the play may suffer as a result. His style is erratic and too sand lot for me.
Is this sarcasm? Because I'm struggling to think of any "baller" QBs we could have gotten in the past two years without trading away significant draft capital and/or players, let alone "dozens". Like maybe Baker meets that criteria, but with his injury history and level of play the last two years he was a lottery ticket that's (mostly) paid out so far.
The only way to obtain a franchise level QB, or obtain a guy who has better odds of becoming that, is to pick one Top 10 or trade up to pick one up in the Top 10.
Mentioning this year's class and Justin Fields doesn't exactly support your point. Stroud is the only one that looks like a franchise QB. Young has been worse than Ridder. AR got injured twice in 4 games and is done for the season because of his reckless undisciplined play style. He isn't a franchise QB, he's the next RGIII. And Fields has managed to win 7 games in 2.5 years. Lost 26. Ridder is 5-5.
