1. Just give it time. 2 months really is early days still. And don't feel guilty about thinking about her, or wondering what she's doing etc. that's normal, just go with it. Let yourself feel whatever it is you're feeling. I read this in a novel once and it's true, one morning you'll wake up and she won't be the first thing on your mind and that'll be it. But what you can actively do for now is focus on things that you enjoy doing for yourself that can help keep your mind off the difficult patch. Reading, watching some stuff off your watch list, a good immersing video game etc etc... Just be kind to yourself. It is rough. Hugs

  2. I have a tub of margarine that's several years old. I figure it's good to keep as a backup in case we ever run out of butter - but we haven't run out of butter lately. When we do, I'll consider whether to throw it out. I used to keep some powdered milk in the pantry for the same reason, but that did get thrown out.

  3. Rancid margarine is absolutely rank, funnily enough. And that's just past its used by date, ish. You might want a plan C for that plan B!

  4. With small children, you also have to hold your ground. They go utterly feral otherwise and the demands never end.

  5. Hi Reddit ,I have 6 million in the bank, multiple homes, another 4m in crypto and a pension built by Zeus himself,I’m slightly concerned about my retiring comfortably, any advice ?

  6. Man, you are so fucked. You need to try harder, it's on you, really. Best of luck. Have some condescending hugs.

  7. The main reason is that the UK doesn't mandate ID cards like most European countries.

  8. Good luck finding employment and accessing government services in the UK without proving your ID.

  9. The houses are often badly insulated, so people don’t have the heating on much. But I can tell you from living abroad in properly cold countries: I’ve never been as cold as when in a UK house in winter!

  10. Absolutely. The difference between being in a cold but dry house and a cold and damp house makes a huge difference.

  11. Sorry, I will join in many comments here. What you describe doesn't sound very healthy. It's manipulation, for some of it. Add a little gaslighting, and some basic rudeness for good measure, too.

  12. She was working as a waitress at a cocktail bar.

  13. Clearly English isn't your first language, but your questions are phrased aggressively, OP, so you will probably not get any serious answers.

  14. Here's hoping that it's just a very basic shit post considering OP's username.

  15. No, he's right! Clearly, my chronic depression as diagnosed by a GP (who spent double my appointment length talking through my symptoms with me), supported by another GP, backed up by my therapist and declared as worthy of disability status by an occupational therapist is just 'normal worries'. I must not be struggling with agoraphobia or fatigue or crippling anxiety. It definitely cannot be that I have pushed through every traumatic event in my life over the past 10 years out of a fear of being considered lazy or work shy.

  16. have you tried not being depressed? when i broke my leg, not having a broken leg seemed to work for me

  17. Only way is to go for a walk, you see. And with your broken leg, well, you just have to try a little harder.

  18. I have never tried it. Reading all the comments, maybe I will. Not even sure what I'd eat it with.

  19. Haha where I am, that would be "John boy" but I don't know how widespread his fame is now. IYKYK

  20. Aw, brilliant! Congratulations and welcome to your daughter. Smooth recovery to mum, too 🥰

  21. It determines how cold the rain is.

  22. It's rather difficult to avoid looking at The Weather, particularly when It is pissing down your face on a near constant basis.

  23. There's definitely a market for it in the Highlands, even in the rural parts.

  24. The Connage Dairy are pretty well known around here (I'm in Inverness) they do have a lot of French cheeses and other European imports. Although I have not been in a while, they were always well stocked, on top of their own local cheese.

  25. Aye this is the place I've been mentioning in several other comments.

  26. I didn't know they did free tasting sessions! I have to remember that now ! I have shifts for work in Ardersier at some point soon. I will be driving past them a lot. The cheese will be calling ! I love their smoked dunlop and the cromal. Damn, I'm getting cravings now.

  27. Do it. You can ask for a screen so you can't see your ex. Not seeing the person makes it easier. It's not ideal but it's something Plus you should get some help when you get to the court. Like even a separate entrance to the building and a different waiting room.

  28. Sounds like a good plan. If you're unattached and have no dependents then it's perfect for that. You've probably thought that through, but in any case, I'd make sure I have easy access to trains, airports etc so you can travel easily to visit your mum.

  29. Contact your local council. Tell them of your situation. From what you're explaining, if faced with homelessness they can (have to?) provide emergency accommodation. Speak with social work again too of course. Get those phone calls sorted tomorrow morning.

  30. I try not to haha but may have to give in. What groups would you recommend?

  31. Ok I would maybe try this one first. I'll have a look at which other ones would work.
