If you're talking modern RE it's 7 and 8. If you like the 'tank' style controls and 3rd person perspective go with any of the 1, 2, or 3 remakes. My favorites are 7 and 1 remake.
2 and 3 remake mistaken me if I’m wrong but it doesn’t have tank controls. I hear that re7 is very horror oriented and I’m interested in seeing how scary it is. Maybe I will go with that one
