  1. Kay Burley forgets that she is meant to be representing a non-biased news channel. She does my absolute head in.

  2. Only the BBC is supposed to be non-biased, the other TV news channels just need to be balanced.

  3. No UEFA nations league, its a "new" tournament

  4. Last poll i saw this year was 68% want to keep the monarchy. About 25% want a republic with the rest probably not knowing what day of the week it was.

  5. I wonder what a repeat poll would look like when Chuck is running the show. I somehow doubt the scenes from yesterday will ever be repeated.

  6. Restaurant workers get paid time off there?

  7. Everyone is entitled to 28 days holiday (except for contractors) and that is prorated for part time workers.

  8. In Afrikaans (daughter language of Dutch) the word is “skatjie” which is the diminutive form of “skat” which means “treasure”. But within this context “sweetie” is an appropriate alternative translation.

  9. TL;DR, crossing the line means an entire tire over the line. Everyone including Ferrari agreed Max's tires did not fully cross the line. No penalty

  10. Basically the same as a goal in football. The ball must be complete over the line, if any part does not cross the then then no goal.

  11. These kind of shops always make me wonder, if drugs were legalised tomorrow how long before they would have them in stock?

  12. By the way the salary is like $2000 per month (in rands), here is the link to the post

  13. Indeed the OED uses -ize by default and lists -ise as an alternative spelling.

  14. The only time I care about the royal family is when I get a free day off work because queen Elizabeth farted three times in a row or some shit like that

  15. I know quite a few people who don’t wear a seatbelt (and we drive vehicles across state lines and through weigh stations). The main reason I get is they know someone who would have died if they’d been belted in.

  16. I have witnessed, as in I was at the scene of the accident, where a non-seatbelt wearing passenger was killed after being ejected from a vehicle. The other 3 occupants who wore seatbelts walked away.

  17. Something went seriously wrong if it writhes and screams from proper halal/kosher slaughter. The blood pressure drop from having the main aorta slit clean through causes near instant loss of consciousness.

  18. He went to Bryanston High School and Pretoria Boys High School which are both English schools. If he was Afrikaans he would have attended Afrikaans schools, possibly Hoërskool Randburg.

  19. isn't one of the European countries does that? a speeding ticket could be 300 or 30,000 bucks depending on one's income.

  20. Several European countries have income based penalties. The Swiss fined a guy CHF1,080,000 a few years ago.

  21. I knew it had to be British, you can just tell

  22. Technically not British which would refer to the island of Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales).

  23. It's in the UK and the British Isles, and people from the UK are called British (people from NI can also be Irish).

  24. Completely agree that this could be anywhere in the UK which does have a inclusive madlads vibe but the British Isles isn’t really a thing anymore. Ireland (the Republic) doesn’t recognise the term officially and non-unionists in NI tend to refer to themselves as Irish.

  25. Not really, he’ll just need to take the buss and/or metro. A car is a luxury item, life is perfectly manageable without one.

  26. I’m from the UK and currently visiting a friend in a suburban area in Texas. There is zero public transport here and the closest metro area (Fort Worth) is 45 minutes drive away.

  27. The UK’s GDP is higher than France’s so not sure why you are getting downvotes. Unless there is another measure of the economic power?

  28. That's why they use Olympic swimming pools. They're a standard size of 50 metres long, 25 metres wide, and a constant depth of 2 metres. A regular size pool is usually 25 metres, rather than 50, but can be any width and depth.

  29. Again, depending how it was deflated. Slashing one deflates it and depending where and how it’s slashed (sidewall etc), it could require a replacement

  30. These nutters are quite deliberate in using the valve to deflate. Causing any kind of damage to the tyre, rim or SUV would be a criminal offence.

  31. Thanks for the info. What do the yellow lines mean in the UK?

  32. There are a range of yellow and red lines, often with accompanying signage, that indicate regulations about parking and stopping.

  33. Thanks. So wait a minute. The lines that divide oncoming traffic from same direction traffic are the same color and design?

  34. Same colour but should be solid near intersections or other places where overtaking is prohibited. So the markings on this road aren’t great (not solid initially) but correct for the most part.

  35. For some strange reason two Christian denominations can have 99.9% in common in how they interpret the Bible, but that 0.1% no matter how innocuous it might be can cause some to say the other isn't Christian and is going to hell. It can be very crazy.

  36. My parents were different denominations so this was basically my childhood.
