1. I’ve been to Spain, Romania, the Netherlands, Ghana, Togo, Ethiopia, India, and Bahrain. I lived in Ghana for almost a year and is agree the US is the best overall. There are 1000% things that could be better. There’s more social mobility here than a lot of other countries as well as access to credit. When I came back from my longest stint away, I appreciated the U.S. wholeheartedly, while also recognizing some of its toxic traits. The individualism in the U.S. is extreme, but we still do have it better than many places.

  2. I met my now husband when I was 20, who is Romanian. We now own just shy of 50 acres of land (free and clear) and a house outside of a major city. We’ve had regular middle class wages the entire time and no help from our parents (no inheritance). I can speak the best about Ghana and Romanian and buo this type of wealth is not an option in Romania nor in Ghana. Those are the two I can speak the best about. Edit to say, my husband was born in Romania and immigrated to the U.S. and agrees with me too. USA. USA.

  3. My husband is from Romania and he used to dig to China.

  4. That’s what I like to call ‘hot garbage’

  5. I just google it every time I think about putting plants together.

  6. The number of 40something men who will get this meme has got to be staggering.

  7. I sent this to my husband. He’s 37 and laughed.

  8. Straddling two worlds… earth and hell.

  9. Everything he does turns to shit.

  10. Same. In my 7th grader group I heard a dial/ringing tone sound, looked over and the kid is holding his phone. Started to say "You can't-" and mum picked up. Kid started begging for her to put more data credit on his phone, and she said "Kid, if you've already used your 5hrs for today, you don't need any more!"

  11. Five hours! I give my kids one on the weekday and three on the weekend.

  12. Omfg. Mine brought snacks into the bed and I told him he was going to get bugs and sleep with the roaches… maybe accidentally eat one at night. He begged me to wash his covers and the next few nights I had to flips his covers around making sure there were no bugs. It never happened again and it was a pretty simple fix he’ll remember for the rest of his life.

  13. That’s the gal! Shes out there again, so be careful.

  14. There ya go! Fellow city farmer. I have 1/2 an acre, a bunch of chickens, a big old garden, and a crappy greenhouse. Your city slickin’ farm dwelling looks good.

  15. Get a hydroponic light system to grow plants. You can probably get a used one locally from fb marketplace.

  16. I had a company do this to me. They listed it as remote then wanted someone in Los Angeles county. They were paying something like $21 an hour. Lol good luck with that.

  17. I have 24 chickens and they feel like silk. I was really surprised the first time I held one.

  18. I get the ball tingle every time I watch videos like this.

  19. I really laughed at this comment tho

  20. If I was a betting woman, I would place full on one factor…

  21. Oh my god, that never occurred to me, but yeah, you could probably figure out if it’s a hate crime too.

  22. I have a lot of trouble with the vouchers. 1. Kids will go to private school, and the vouchers rarely cover a full tuition, so the remaining balance will be on the parent. 2. Kids will go to private school and those with an IEP or any behavior problems will be removed from private school and be back in public. You’ll end up with a larger amount of “problem” children in public which inhibit the learning of other children. 3. Even if they do qualify, sometimes they don’t have the means to get there. Private schools rarely have bus systems and rely on the parents to shuttle their kids. Aftercare programs at these schools also cost money, instead of the school bus dropping them off in front of their house to be a latchkey kid.

  23. Wait you lost me at two, why would kids with problems be removed from private school?

  24. Private schools don’t have to deal with problem behavior. They’re private businesses and can ultimately refuse service to kids who don’t fit their standard, whether that’s a behavioral or academic standard.

  25. I almost missed my flight once and I was shaking like a leaf. I made it with two minutes so spare. My butt was the last in the seat.

  26. Went to Walmart tonight and got dog food, shampoo, coffee creamer, and color tabs for the bath for kids. It was $83.

  27. Lumberton was my first thought too.

  28. We live in a neighborhood on 1/2 an acre, and 24 chickens and a gigantic garden. I also have a full time job in the city. I call it an urban farm, but it’s like suburban homesteading. People try to gatekeep the stupidest things. Homesteading can run the gamut from basically Amish to city slicker with chickens and a massive garden.

  29. So my wife and I are arguing that the 1/2 acre isn’t enough, what are your thoughts on that?

  30. I’ve completely run out of room. We have no room for goats, pigs, a cow. Nobody else will fit. I would opt for the five acres, because on 1/2 an acre you’re super limited in any expansion. We bought almost 50 acres in west Tennessee, but haven’t moved there yet. That’s going to be our expansion, because we want the goats, cows, pigs, peacocks, guinea fowl, etc etc BUT edited to say, you can feed yourself pretty well on just 1/2 an acre. We also end up with a surplus and give it away to neighbors.
