I live in Texas. There’s a drag show brunch every Saturday/Sunday across the street from my place, there are rainbows painted on the street corners, and people are super chill. The LGBTQ+ community is all around me and I’ve never heard of friends/neighbors having issues. Get out more and explore, theres a lot to like about the state, the food is FANTASTIC, there’s a lot of diverse natural beauty, diversity in people, and people are very friendly.

I think when you are applying to work for the Federal government you are lying not only to your employer, but the government itself. The application has you attest that the application is correct to the best of your knowledge. Your salary is being paid by taxpayers so there is a higher level of burden to meet minimum qualifications associated with the position.
