1. Not a chef, though I live on the New England coast and I cook a lot of lobsters, as do many people I know - I've never killed one with a knife before boiling and I don't know anyone who does. I get them very fresh and they're quite... active. It'd be pretty difficult with your standard home-cook set of knives, but I'll consider it next time.

  2. I lived in Maine for nearly a decade and everyone I was around up there killed the lobster before cooking. It’s fairly easy even getting them right off the boat. You just have to grab them in the middle, like where their tail joins the main body and hold them still with pressure. they wont move around much.

  3. The only “labs exclusive” that can spawn on lighthouse is the crafting book that is needed for I think LedX craft. It can spawn on a desk in the train yard. I’ve never seen it personally but I’ve seen pictures of it being there and wiki says it can

  4. Yeah whenever someone is referring to a labs exclusive they’re referring to the current converter and the far forward thing. Something can’t be labs exclusive while spawning on maps other than labs

  5. Oh I know, I was just agreeing with you. That’s why I put the “labs exclusive” in quotes. Also, those two items were such a pain to find 😂

  6. LMAO oh my mistake I misread your comment. And dude I know lmao I’m still looking for both of them. Granted I don’t play labs much, but it’s been a huge pain between the gigs sweats, cheaters, and just not knowing the map too well.

  7. Immediately get a financial advisor to invest/handle it. Buy a house, 2 new reliable cars, pay off my and my gfs student loan debt. Probably never work again unless I get bored of playing video games, golfing, and any other hobby I want to enjoy now that I have all the free time and money I could ever want.

  8. People forgetting ground zero is way better then streets since update.

  9. Isn’t it random chance to get into a lobby with good loot tho? If you get put into a under 20 lobby the loot sucks

  10. As someone already pointed out, that’s only for PMC. Scavving is basically a coin flip

  11. Can confirm event is still going. Have died to both of them, and killa is def spawning 100%. I see his corpse or hear him every raid

  12. I wonder what they call the test they do before they let the streamers test it. They must have to call it a pre alpha alpha? or is it a pre pre alpha? 🤡🤡🤡 What about if they just wanted to test some mechanics before that? 🤡🤡🤡

  13. Definitely not the first time this has been brought up but we need more weapons in the lords caliber

  14. Yeah I mean trying to use your personal experience to say everyone should do what you did is crazy. Also what you’re doing is not fundamentally the same as “going to college” in the traditional sense (full time). You have no need for student loans, so of course you won’t have debt.

  15. Looks like you don’t know how the word “and” works huh? My original comment was specifically about people who go to school full time AND take out loans to do so. That means that my comment applies to only people who fit in that category. My comment was not about people like you who take a decade to get their degree.

  16. Even when I have to play PMC I just rush every task just to get it over with. I don't even mind losing my loot. I really don't even search for loot. It's just some of the tasks are really bad. Force you to play shitty playstyles that aren't really skill building just frustrating to be frustrating. Granted, This is my first wipe and I probably don't even have 100 hours in. But in my short experience some of the tasks are just punishing to be punishing.

  17. lol this is my 4th wipe, and you’re dead on about some quests just being ass. I’m level 38 atm and still not done with setup/punisher part 4. I genuinely don’t mind near all of the quests that are in the game, but the ones that shoehorn you into playing a certain way or with a certain gun are the worst ones, by far.

  18. I'm level 16. I got Shooter quests from Jager right around the time of the event with the uber scavs. Where you have to kill scavs over 40m away with iron sights using a bolt action with no body armor on woods. I just said fuck it gonna leave them until I get better. Also have to shoot legs and heads over 40m away. I'm lucky if I even see them before they beam me. Meanwhile I hop on a scav raid get some tasty loot, FIR quest items, and PVP if I really want or I can hide until its safe to exfil.

  19. Since you have flea, you should try buying some NVGs and going nighttime. A lot less people on average in the queues, easier to focus on questing! That’s how I get most of my non PVP quests done

  20. I struggle with the notion that "yes you can be friends with this person, but only in a limited way" - to me this is no true friendship - either there is trust and the person should be treated like any other friend, or there is no trust and the person should not be treated like a friend (both of these can be reasonable). I do take note that treating someone "friendly" is different to treating someone "like a friend". There is no reason to have any animosity, so you can be friendly without being friends, but friendship with stipulations that you wouldn't apply to other friends is unfair to pretty much everyone involved, even if it seems like a logical compromise.

  21. So you treat every single friend you have the exact same? You don’t have a best friend you confide to more than others? You don’t have a friend you can roast super hard, but won’t take it personally like most people do?

  22. The community is on board because the game has become a ratting/camp fest now that youre silent when crouch walking. Have you ever tried to crouch walk in real life with 60 lbs on your back? Guarantee you won't be silent like in this game.

  23. I wish people stopped trying to compare Tarkov to real life. This game has never been a copy of real world combat, it’s as realistic as fun gameplay allows. If tarkov was realistic, your raid would be over the first time you get shot most of the time. Try doing surgery ON YOURSELF and let me know how that goes lol. Next time you hurt yourself, take an ibuprofen and see how long it takes to kick in, and if it actually helps the pain. Or better yet try throw some Vaseline on it, I’m sure that’ll solve it

  24. Only this subreddit will complain the game isn't realistic, but also complain when more realistic options are presented.

  25. I’m not complaining lmao just stating my opinion. I don’t necessarily want the game to be hyper-realistic, cause it wouldn’t be a whole lot of fun. The crab walking being silent was (IMO) a good thing, despite not being realistic at all. In a game where sound is already so bad, I don’t think being able to reposition silently was the worst of it. Not by a long shot.

  26. I still cant believe you can’t cancel an unlock animation. Died to a scav earlier trying to unlock marked room and I just had to sit and watch him kill me. Couldn’t cancel, shouldn’t spray and pray one handed.

  27. But you can look around and ADS for some reason, truly stupid.

  28. You can spin around like a goddamn ballerina, but can’t stop yourself from turning a key lmao

  29. Honestly for 30k xp I would probably take that. Xp is a lot harder to get than money

  30. sure, but at lvl 45 all the dailies give you around 30k :D

  31. At level 45 I would think 1 BTC is also pretty inconsequential no? I mean I’m level 35 with 25 mill and like 20 BTC I’ve been sitting on

  32. I love listening to new stuff, so recommend me a song, it can be by DM.

  33. What kind of stuff do you normally listen to? Are you under 20 yrs old? Was gonna recommend some old metal but most people my age have heard it before

  34. Tbh most of the time I get killed by a fellow PScav, it was cause I was wearing PMC gear I found or killed for, or it was because they’re under lvl 10 accounts, so I’m assuming they’re new and don’t understand scav karma yet. I know BSG is really anti-“help” but they should really have Fence explain scav karma to people on load in.

  35. Let’s be honest, nobody is buying Tarkov without already having watched someone play it. It’s not like people are browsing Steam and stumbling across it randomly.

  36. Eh, while I agree with the sentiment, it doesn’t really matter. Watching a couple YouTube videos likely won’t have any kind of explanation on scav karma as YT vids are mostly PMC based, unless you’re specifically watching guides/tutorial level stuff. There was a post on this sub within the last couple days where a guy said he was level 10 and didn’t realize what scav karma was until someone added him and messaged him. It happens.

  37. Sure, but the barter gives you 2 alum splints for the price of 2 Energy's. 1:1 you're getting splints for around 13k rubles each

  38. ….as opposed to getting 2 alum splints for the price of one untar off the flea, which is roughly the same price give or take 5k. So there’s no difference

  39. Most every SMG and even some small rifle calibers are best run hollow. They barely have the pen, let alone decent damage for high pen rounds.

  40. It’s genuinely difficult for me to tell myself to aim at the legs. I have been playing shooting games for 20 years and this is the first game I’ve ever played where shooting at the legs is better than shooting at their head in certain instances

  41. I want to say this is common knowledge but it keeps working, so: ALWAYS PUSH WHEN YOU HEAR THEM PULL A NADE.

  42. I fake pull nades to try and bait pushes lmao. Back up a bit, pull a nade out so they hear the noise, immedietely swap back to gun. Worked more times than people would think. Players to commonly think that you’re committing to the nade and push before they should

  43. What makes woods the only good map? I would highly disagree and say that woods is a terrible map that’s far too big and the pvp is lack luster and everyone just snipes.

  44. I don’t agree with the comment you replied to either, personally I think customs is the best designed map. But woods is designed to be a sniping map, That doesn’t mean it’s poorly designed.

  45. Don’t enter your hideout. There’s been multiple people (myself included) who have no problem loading raids as long as you don’t go into your hideout. If you go into your hideout, you have to restart.

  46. Yeah I know.. I’m +5K hours into this game I’ve just never seen a blue spawn.. I’ve 7 red spawn and found in one wipe a few years back but never ever a blue

  47. Ahhh I gotcha, my mistake. 7 reds is insane tbh. I’ve only found 1 card on woods and it was violet, this was like 3-4 years ago so it wasn’t worth what it is now

  48. Found my first violet last wipe when a killed a PScav lol

  49. Yeah, this makes way more sense. Memory literally does nothing as a skill, and everyone in Tarkov gets their memory wiped anyway, apprently. Pretty annoying level requirement for hideout management, though. I don't think mine is at level 5 and I'm level 48 rn

  50. So genuinely curious why is mine 7, halfway to 8 and I’m level 32? What’s contributing to the gap?

  51. As far as I know, crating and keeping fuel in the generator is the only way to get it up. I don't craft very often.

  52. Shouldn't the ground zero matchmaker differentiate between flea market and no flea market access? Would make more sense imho.

  53. With the new addition for 20+ to go in GZ, I have a feeling they’ll change it next wipe to level 15. Unlikely they would change the level cap mid wipe though

  54. Or they might change the flea market cap back to level 20

  55. Either or would accomplish the same goal, personally I like having flea at 15, but I can for sure see the appeal of having it be at 20.
