1. My God, being able to egress in a fire is literally tyranny.

  2. You might wish to read the article. It doesn’t have anything to do with fire safety. And it’s quite easy to still build a bedroom without exterior windows under the IBC, even with the change Austin is proposing.

  3. This was the dumbest post I’ve ever read, incoherent, fragmented, repetitive, and deceiving, a perfect recipe for a shitty ass story with no substance.

  4. But failure wasn’t an option. How many times does he have to say it?

  5. It’s definitely not working on it. It responds to prompts and does nothing until the next one.

  6. Then why the “gotcha” post title? It kind of seems like you’re trying to dunk on the sub by holding out what you think is a good example of the quintessential widow retiree who would be forced out of her home. Right?

  7. What gives you the impression an “LVT economy” isn’t individualistic? If anything LVT facilitates greater competition and the flow of capital.

  8. Individuals benefit most when everyone benefits. This should be clear from the posts pointing out the most basic individual rights are always 100% dependent on public funding.

  9. Ok, he quite clearly was describing frugality, not robbery, but that’s still beside the point, that’s not a problem LVT will solve. There will assuredly still be crime.

  10. What’s the difference between this and a ground lease coop? Is it just who owns the land?

  11. From what I understand, In a ground lease coop, the residents own the building but not the land(They are in a lease agreement for the land under the building). This makes for situations where once the lease on the land expires, they can lose the favorable agreements under the original lease and prices can go up dramatically for residents by whoever ends up acquiring the land. Comparatively with CLT's residents own the land collectively and own the housing individually, helping to reduce these risks.

  12. I always vote against the boards recommendations.

  13. Maybe you should stop investing in companies where you disagree with virtually everything the board does? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  14. I know that “STBX” means “Soon to Be Ex”, but my brain keeps reading it as “Shitbox” and so far it’s been pretty accurate either way.

  15. I’m so glad you spelled this out. I was too afraid to ask wtf a Starbucks husband is…

  16. "The Holocaust was an obscene period in our nation's history. I mean in this century's history. But we all lived in this century. I didn't live in this century."

  17. “Verbosity leads to unclear, inarticulate things.”

  18. It’s crazy how even highlighting the point about adjusting for trade doesn’t help. It’s like some people don’t want to hear…

  19. your smugness is your greatest weakness and exactly why socialists will eventually triumph

  20. It started as an investigation into perpetually broken soft serve machines at McDonald’s locations. The FTC was receiving a shocking number of consumer complaints and suspected some kind of bait and switch scam (selling more Apple pies or something, IDK). When they started looking into it they realized the manufacturer was requiring the franchises to use their authorized service reps to fix them, which raised costs and led to longer repair times.

  21. This will not change a thing. Brokers still need to be paid for the services they provide. What will happen is that sellers who don’t agree to pay the commission of the buyer’s broker won’t have their properties shown.

  22. Not quite. But I am a transactional real estate attorney. I use a broker.

  23. VR has been out for a while now. Is there any credible evidence of that?

  24. I mean you’re staring at a bright screen an inch away from your eyes. I don’t know how it wouldn’t affect eyesight in some way

  25. I don’t know about Apple in particular, but I think other manufacturers use lenses to make the focal distance of the screens several feet away.

  26. This article is really the perfect encapsulation of problem with progressive identity politics. It’s so often just about progressives’ views of how a given group should or shouldn’t exist. NIMBYism always manages to surface the worst in people.

  27. I don’t know if this is an option for you, but I got around similar corporate limitations by installing the mirroring software on my personal computer and then using the Office web apps through that device.

  28. I salvaged this from a comment about the comments on the original article for everyone's viewing pleasure

  29. Yes that’s how supply and demand works.

  30. It’s weird they’d spend so many words trying to describe market forces as some Peter Jackson fever dream about consumers joining forces to fight off the corporations of Sauron’s army.

  31. Can you explain what you mean by a linear mouse? The Tap 2 has an optical mouse, which is a type of mouse. The tapXR has an airmouse- both support linear movement.

  32. Sorry, I’m referring to the optical mouse functionality on the Tap 2. The TapXR video on YouTube calls flat movement on a table or desk a “linear mouse” and distinguishes it from airmouse. The video says linear mouse is available and airmouse will be in the future.

  33. Ah. Sorry if that is confusing us of language. The TapXR will NOT have an optical mouse, but the airmouse via the IMU supports linear as well as 6DOF movement.

  34. Thank you. You’ve been so helpful today. One last question: does the linear mouse mode on the XR support only single click, or additional functions?
