1. Underpowered is an arbitrary term. You might hear people saying that when they compare Nintendo handhelds to competitors because they are on paper less powerful. There’s no such thing as a benchmark for these types of products, just patterns in the market and consumer perception.

  2. Then why is the Switch now in the same boat as the PSP, prioritizing relatively higher handheld power than previously at 3-5 hours battery life instead of like past handhelds? And still is one of their most successful platforms?

  3. I can't speak directly for Nintendo, but there are a lot of noticeable differences between the Switch and PSP. The biggest one is that the Switch is a hybrid handheld/home console. Dedicated handhelds before the Switch generally needed more like 8-12 hours of battery life, cheap games, and a $100-200 price tag to be competitive. The PSP was popular but the DS fit this criteria and performed much better. Game Boy also beat its competitors this way.

  4. Most use the Switch as a handheld, not a console. They made the Switch Lite for a reason.

  5. I do feel the game is slower than 3 and 4, but the satisfaction of beating up enemies in 2 is better than 3 and 4. I love those sound effects. I have noticed the balancing is a bit strange but honestly just get good.

  6. A big issue is with a lot of the weaker enemies, you can stun lock them by standing there and just spamming punch, it's like an unfortunate oversight the devs missed.

  7. I'm not "blaming" anything, I'm judging whether or not a game holds up or not (it does, but that doesn't excuse some aspects that could be improved like the enemies wandering off-screen that people dismiss because of their feelings and nostalgia). I don't know why you're complaining about it in my comments, ignoring potential flaws and treating games like they never aged is a worthless way to assess games lol

  8. Yes! It’s a memory game and will test you

  9. "test you" You mean with beginners traps/camera angles that force you to take cheap hits or waste unnecessary inventory, so you can avoid them and do better on future playthroughs with prior knowledge of the game? Yeah no, that's garbage design, and this game has actual elements of that regardless of what fans like to pretend.

  10. Past half year or so I smoke every day, same strain, same amount, same length of time between smoking.

  11. No. If it's empty it's not using any space so it's ok

  12. I'd much rather not have any useless empty folders in my downloads. It shouldn't be forced there.

  13. Wrong, I don't like YOUR answers because you are the only one here looking for something to bitch about in regards to my post lmao. All of what you say is based off personal feelings and nothing more. I do not fear people my size or less, there is no ego in eye contact with an aggressor, and making friends with sociopathic criminals on the streets is the stupidest idea ever, proving you shouldn't be taken seriously.

  14. "I won't waste my time trying to 'prove' it" yawn You're barely even trying to come off like you actually have a leg to stand on at this point. You can type all these replies, yet 1 example is just wasting time? Lmfao, just...wow.

  15. This really bothered you for 120 days ahah i don't think your pseudo-critic is gonna see this bud, it's not that deep you know, like his reviews lol

  16. What are you talking about? If you respond to me, expect a response back. This isn't difficult to understand. And as for your response as a whole, you gave 0 reasons as to what was wrong with what I said vs who I argued with. Cut the troll BS and give me something more worthy to respond to.

  17. One of the key reasons why mass murderers are almost always male is because males tend to externalize their problems.

  18. Pretty sure him having male genitals us barely scraping the surface as to why he did it if at all, but ok lol

  19. As DC games are higher res (480) compared to older systems (240), maybe the lines are finer and difficult to see. Not sure, just guessing

  20. It only happens with this specific shader combined with Dreamcast. Regardless of whether I toggle the scanlines on/off in the shader parameters. Other shaders I tried have scanlines.

  21. the Dot and lcd1x handheld shaders should work fine, also the gtu-v50 and zfast-crt crt shaders

  22. Yeah, I saw screenshots of gtu-v050 at 720p vs 1440p and they looked identical so I assume it's fine (unless you need 4k to really see the full effects which some people really insist)

  23. Usually to see the difference in a screenshot you need open the entire image, without shrinking or zooming. You can usually do this by opening the image in a new tab.

  24. "open the image without zooming" Why would that be? Because I found the total opposite. Downloading the images and zooming in on them allowed me to better make out the inaccuracies of the scanlines and mask between 720p and 1440p.

  25. You didn’t hear it from me, but you can homebrew a 3DS to play Advance and Color games. It’s time consuming, but worth it. I won’t tell if you don’t tell.

  26. I have a 2DS, and the d-pad is one of, if not the worst d-pad I've ever used. I can't believe the company who perfected the d-pad on their second attempt continues to get it wrong now.

  27. Wait till you find out that GTA IV also has removed and downgraded features from SA 🤯🤯🤯🤯

  28. Also, GTA 4 had an excuse. The over the top features like getting fat would contradict the gritty tone they went for. GTA 5 should have had the dynamic physics.

  29. Nice strawman. Show me where I said GTA 4 did not remove features from SA.

  30. Well it feels more alive arguably thanks to (I think?) higher npc count due to New York style setting, and the more dynamic physics of IV. Idk about details in general, both seem great to me. 5 might have more small stuff that you might not notice maybe.

  31. Not in any community, I just want a perfect GTA game with both awesome immersive physics and all the standard GTA features in 1 definitive game.

  32. Fun game, but there needs to be a fix for the PC port. The dynamic lighting is bugged for me. Also, the game has horrible audio balancing, not exclusive to the PC port cause I remember it on PS3.

  33. The one I'm using right now is called gtu 050 I think, and it has options to customize the scanlines and sharpness/blurriness of the image. There were other shaders but I forget.

  34. 4 and SA are a very tough match for my top 2; SA has the features and map variety, 4 has the legendary physics system among other things. Perfect GTA would be to have the physics from 4 and the over the top fun stuff from all the other games. Below those 2, Vice City and 3. Below those, the PSP games, and maybe GTA 5 can also fit alongside them as well. I truly feel like 5 isn't all that special for the series aside from graphics which they nail. Found ways to have fun in it, loved how you can drive over massive hills running over animals and driving off huge cliffs. Little things like the random events in the city added life. But in general, not much I've seen in 5 that I can't experience in previous games, sometimes in better form than in 5.

  35. Device? OS? It works fine on Windows at least.

  36. The GBA, GBC, DS and PSP color shaders are all pulled straight from actual console displays using professional equipment (you can read more about how the measurements were taken

  37. Well I do play on a Steam Deck, not sure if that significantly affects the colors. And my PSP is an original model 1000.

  38. The PSP 1000 had awful ghosting too, does the shader attempt to replicate that or is it just colour? That might be the main difference?

  39. My PSP has ghosting, the color shader does not. Testing Chains of Olympus, the shader has a reddish look overall compared to my PSP. I get a more accurate result if I run the game with the main PPSSPP emulator and turn up the gamma in the settings.
