1. I went in conservative-ish, came out despising all progressives while also being one. We're all insufferable but so is everyone else.

  2. Right but to a racist … there is no distinction. I’m mixed race / white passing and white people call all black culture related anything ghetto when they don’t like black people - it’s a litmus test really .

  3. Not really. I grew up in some very poor and predominately black neighborhoods and the white and black families all used ghetto and trailer trash or trashy. No one cared. It wasn't that deep. The term has been mostly appropriated by racists though. Some people out there might have grown up in a similar place and might not know things have changed.

  4. That's always been the weirdest thing. The more racist someone is, the more they fetishize them. Because even the most horrible racist deep down still knows hotness when they see it. They'll never admit it to anyone including themselves, but they'll love it.

  5. Because the books are filled with socio-economic and racial comparisons to the real world. The books are more "woke" than the show by far, even though it came out decades ago.

  6. That scene was, in many ways, a bad bastardization, as was the female Stormfront.

  7. There's a ton of symbolism, just different symbolism. It's also more relevant to current events.

  8. I mean it's as next gen as anything else imo. It looks good, not great. The procedural generation is impressive, if I liked the setting better I'd probably play it forever.

  9. No one is really complaining about the vibe in the reviews at all. Most of the reviews seem to like the vibe quite a lot. It's that there's little to nothing about the game that's actually finished, polished, or well done. Personally I love the space combat and ship building, and if that was the whole game and it was only $20-$30, it would be well worth it. There's fun in Starfield, but every bit of fun is accompanied by "it's good, buuut..."

  10. Oh right, that tab isn’t in my region lol I forget sometimes

  11. That's largely due to laws in your region protecting you from aggressive advertisements, or the companies not knowing your regions laws and opting not to.

  12. There's a lot of conspiracies but I don't think he cares if you see what he said in there. The fact is, he's made it. He's the speaker of the house. Running a podcast is an incredible waste of his time now, costs money on almost all sites to host and even more if it's your own site, and doesn't really help him at all. What is it going to do? Get his name out there? Help his campaign. He's won already.

  13. If you wanted Bethesda to make a game like starfield with every planet and moon being unique, you'd probably have to wait decades, games aren't that advanced yet

  14. Except most people wouldn't have wanted this many planets. A dozen or two with pre-set landing areas and the areas are hand made could very, very easily be done.

  15. What's crazy is that every other day some thread hits the top of the sub about some complaint about the game.

  16. To be fair, a lot of people weren't active in the sub initially, because they were still trying to play the game. They weren't putting in 300 hours a week starting day one.

  17. do you know how many hours are in a week

  18. I was being intentionally dramatic. You're not clever or smart because "ha, that would be impossible, idiot doesn't even know how many hours are in a week", you're just acting like a true redditor.

  19. Personally, I would just replace the insert. They're not that expensive and messing with something like this feels like it's far too great a risk for something that is in no way worth it.

  20. With enough money you can get into places that fame alone would never get you in. Most of that access is tied heavily to the money. That isn't always the case, but it typically is. But, it depends on what you're trying to get access to.

  21. I would have to disagree with you some.

  22. And this, my friend, is the exact kind of discourse that is extremely nice and helpful. You clearly and concisely state why you feel the way you do without really insulting anyone. The issue I have, is the people that don’t do that. It’s the mindlessness, the desire to parrot someone else, that’s what bothers me. Starfield isn’t perfect. No question there. So help make it better then? Explain your thoughts. Ya know?

  23. Ah! I think I mistook some of your criticisms as being unintentionally misdirected at the legitimate complaints.

  24. Every survey has around 5% nonsense in it, bare minimum.

  25. And that's what they said they went for, but sometimes realism should take a backseat to fun in games.

  26. That's what gets me, it's like they couldn't decide what tone to go with. So many things are very clearly very Elder Scrolls-esque. With everyone going out of their way to speak to you, or everyone deciding that most major decisions should be yours to make. Everyone speaks to you as the protagonist. Not just another person, but as the protagonist. The Crimson Fleet feels like a really shitty comic book villain group. They were caricatures and not real at all.

  27. When they said that the wilderness would be all procedurally generated I knew this would be the problem people had.

  28. Funnily, people were losing it because the entire planets weren't generated, instead only small procedurally generated areas. I wanted it to be more restrictive, not less. I would have preferred 10-20 planets, but each one is a large custom made area you can land at and really explore.

  29. Do they owe us? No But it baffles my mind they all prioritize short term gain over maintaining longer term goodwill. See also Unity pissing off their users and having to backpedal

  30. Pissing off their user base?? No they don't. You're all pirates. They're pissing off the pirates, who they don't make any money off of anyways. Do you really think your engagement alone is that valuable? It isn't. It costs money to allow people to use their service for free, and it's not a charity.

  31. You really think most people are HAPPY about ads? Pirates we may be, but I cannot fathom any landlubber wanting more taxes. Besides, they're hurting the users who don't want to get premium too

  32. There's a reason there are no real, true competitors to YouTube. It's near impossible to make that sort of model actually turn a profit. Even getting it to break even is extremely challenging. If enough users used premium this entire discussion would be different, the free version should have minimal ads, but that's only a very, very small portion of their revenue. Their revenue almost entirely comes from ads.

  33. Rage brings in the clicks. Especially from those who just want to see Bethesda fail. Then those clicks bring in more and more. Someone planning to make a video about it would be better off bashing it, even if they liked it. Either directly or indirectly, people are being paid to spread hate about it.

  34. Objectively about a 9.3 Subjectively an 8.7

  35. What are the general ages of the players on the realm? Is it 18+?

  36. If you come across any that are pretty good, mind dming me information or an invite. A friend and I are looking for a realm to join that would fit us.

  37. Myself and 1 or 2 friends are looking for a realm to join. I would like to check yours out to see if it would be a good fit for us.

  38. Is this a realm or a server? It sounds more like a server.

  39. Wow... Reddit at it again with so many assumptions about their relationship and what's happening... He could be making sure everything is set up for where they're going. This man might be working hard to make sure everything goes off perfectly for his bride and trying to coordinate with everyone. There's a lot more to a wedding than just this part.

  40. VOZ1 says:

I was thinking the same thing, but here’s where I ended up: from what I’ve read about this case (which I admit, isn’t enough at the moment), the union workers returned the cement trucks to the facility, and the company had to work without their (the union workers’) labor to get the cement out of the cement trucks. Leaving the cement to dry would be bad, potentially destroying the trucks (at least in part), and certainly costing money to deal with. But the trucks were not damaged, all the cement was removed from the trucks, and everything carried on from there. Even if the ruling only says unions have to finish the work, as you said, where does that end? Dropping the trucks off at their destination? Finishing the day’s work? Completing the project, that could take days, weeks, months, where the concrete is being used? To me, this ruling says that the employer owns its workers’ labor and gets to decide when to allow it’s workers to withhold (or simply not provide) their labor. What. The. Fuck. Sick days cost employers money, are those fair game now for a lawsuit? Unplanned personal days? The greatest and really only power workers have is their labor, and their ability and right to withhold or not provide that labor. We are not slaves. But when SCOTUS starts to move that line between worker and slave even a teeny bit more towards slave, we should be seriously fucking alarmed.

  41. I am constantly working on multiple large scale projects at any given moment. There is no such thing for me as all work being completed, ever. I always have outstanding work to complete.
