1. Russian defense seems eerily similar to a certain right-wing party in the U.S.

  2. I made a post about this but "The Raft" freaked me the fuck out as a child. Wouldn't go near a lake or any standing body of water for quite a while after watching that.

  3. Is that where that’s from? I saw it (and was terrified of it), but didn’t remember it being part of a compilation.

  4. More like “what can I make that the kiddos will actually eat?”

  5. There's a thing some people do when camping, where they have a vial of ashes from a past campfire that they'll sprinkle over a fire before lighting it. Then when the fire is out, they collect some of its ashes and put them in the vial. Maybe they'll get multiple vials of ashes and share them with others who were around the fire. They'll typically say something about the history of the ashes they started with, like, "These were in a fire attended by my father in the 1960s," or, "These ashes can be traced back to a campfire in 1915," and so on.

  6. I’ve never come up against Goseck. I guess I should count my blessings.

  7. Just any minute now the benefits will trickle down. Trust the great job creators, they know what's best.

  8. Watch out for kids getting to the front, and knock them out before they go into the pilots cabin ;).

  9. As long as they don’t run in First Class, you should be fine.

  10. I have 12 pasta strainers hidden in 11 locations, throughout the city, plus one over the border. It's just for this scenario. And yes... I learned the hard way.

  11. What is my perfect crime? I break into Tiffany's at midnight. Do I go for the vault? No, I go for the colander. It's priceless. As I'm taking it down, a woman catches me. She tells me to stop. It's her father's business. She's Tiffany. I say no. We make love all night. In the morning, the cops come and I escape in one of their uniforms. I tell her to meet me in Mexico, but I go to Canada. I don't trust her. Besides, I like the cold. Thirty years later, I get a postcard. I have a son and he's the chief of police. This is where the story gets interesting. I tell Tiffany to meet me in Paris by the Trocadero. She's been waiting for me all these years. She's never taken another lover. I don't care. I don't show up. I go to Berlin. That's where I stashed the colander.

  12. The lines are stupid long, but they are constantly moving. I was honestly impressed by how good a job security staff were doing under the circumstances.

  13. “Married … With Fishsticks” says otherwise, alas.

  14. One of my homeboy just lost 13M in Macau in 3 nights.

  15. I've been flying a fair bit in the last month and I've watched the level of mask wearing drop right off. At some stage they must have dropped the mask requirement in airports so about 20% stopped straight away and now that's more like 40-50% not wearing. You still are supposed to wear them on the plane but I see more and more people not bothering and not being challenged about it. I've been wearing N95 masks on planes and I hear all the people coughing away and sneezing on the plane (having ticked the box before check-in saying they didn't have any symptoms of course). You can't really see what people are doing on the plane unless you wander about but when everyone jumps up at the moment they turn off the seatbelt light I saw about 20% not wearing masks or wearing "chin diapers" as the Yanks call them.

  16. And anti-maskers are being bolder about ignoring the flight crew when asked to put their damned masks on.

  17. I’d choose “Haunted” over “Hello”, but Poe is amazing.

  18. Then you sort out the recycling. That isn’t part of the foreplay process, but it is still very important.

  19. Hahaha! I love that too! My husband had never heard anyone call Bandersnatch Cumbersome by anything other than his name. And while Burlington is my go to because it made my not easily amused hubby spit his drink out, I love to change it up 😂

  20. The Succession duology (The Risen Empire, and The Killing of Worlds) by Scott Westerfeld is an amazing read. Facetiously, “lesbian ninja cyborgs versus the zombie empire”, but with so much more depth.

  21. In the UK this movie was called A Night on the Town. I loved this movie. Ah the late 80s <3

  22. I love Penelope Ann Miller’s character at the bus station, especially when she loses her glasses
