1. Not really, that was a government backed and enabled corporation with a royal charter (although yes technically still private at the time) who was given the special privilege to avoid paying newly established import taxes. This gave them an intentionally massive and unfair advantage over colonial based importers.

  2. Soooo it's cool to do a non-peaceful protest that destroys property when the government gives an intentionally massive and unfair advantage to some business but not others? Buuuut a bunch of students sitting in tents is not okay?

  3. This is actually a valid way to do lateral raises. Called heavy partials.

  4. Interesting! To me, it looked like he was swinging his arms too much and sorta just letting momentum do the down part... But, like, I'm definitely not a fitness pro by any means so shit, maybe he's fine. Not like I'm gonna tell the Yokozuna how to do that though - just gonna gripe on reddit. :p

  5. The heavy partials are done alongside more strict lateral raises with no momentum and much lighter weight, I’m sure he does those too. I’ve definitely noticed most rikishi are sloppy lifters but looks like Teru really knows what he’s doing. That shoulder growth is insane!

  6. Yeaaaah and I'm willing to bet there's a 100% chance he's also taking steroids for recovery and etc - which most boosts that area too. (Why wouldn't he if it's done in moderation, legal, and helps him recover when his body is falling apart?)

  7. 17% = $1.02 Billion. Substantial amount taken away from the underground economy. But not enough to fill the gap of the never ending increase in school funding requirements.

  8. You might be surprised to know that 3/4 of all cannabis sales in MA are still on the illicit market.

  9. It’s probably a good guess but how could anyone possibly know that statistic for real though? Are drug dealers & their customers reporting to a street drug database 🤔? And with home growing being legal that skews numbers too

  10. The number is based off a very good study done by Whitney Economics and also both Smart Approaches to Marijuana and NBC have done separate studies and find similar numbers as well. The WE also continues to do these studies regularly and even specific to different states as well as US trends.

  11. Through rap music kids at a younger age are being exposed sexual content. Remember when Clinton sad he did not have sex with that women? That changed the definition of sex for kids and it has evolved ever since.

  12. ...What? First of all, I'd bet dollars to donuts that a bunch of middle school kids when asked who Bill Clinton is would say "Wasn't he President?" or not know him at all and that's about it. That was 25 freaking years ago. Like, if you're gonna be upset about a recent politician having a sex scandal then uhhhhh how about that court case in NYC right now? 👀

  13. Who are you afraid of? The kid? The parent? It's the kid who should be scared if they know that their parent would disapprove of their behavior.

  14. The parent and potential insane fallout - 100%. A friend of mine who teachers - she had some 11 year old shit make a bunch of comments about grabbing her boobs and has been to the principal and the kid was disciplined many times... But what do the parents do? They double down and say it must be because the teacher is being inappropriate and probably a pedo. Like, she has to undergo the humiliation already, then had to go through more because there's an automatic investigation for that stuff, and still has shitty kids and parents talking about it like it's true.

  15. The RNC is going to be scrambling for a contender when Donny Bosco is DQ’d as a felon. Nikki is one of their most palatable alternatives.

  16. If she ends up getting chosen for some crazy reason, I am sincerely afraid that will mean Biden loses.

  17. Be sure to get as close to the action as you can, okay? Make sure you've got that front row view - I bet it'll be cool and in absolutely no way dangerous. Have fun with that! 🤦‍♂️

  18. if it is in no way dangerous why would you recommend it that sounds fuckin boring is there something else to it or are you just lame?

  19. I'm pretty sure there's apps that help with tracing shots. If you can't find a place that does it, download the app and it'll probably work out okay.

  20. Same as to when you've posted this on other comments - that is a notorious tabloid, giving a third hand account (an unnamed koenkai member who didn't witness anything relaying a story from an unnamed source). People should definitely NOT just assume whatever is in the DS is correct.

  21. You replied to every time I commented this with others? Uhh ok. I guess I'll copy/paste my reply for each of these then.

  22. Okay, that's fair enough, but in here you are talking about it as a sure thing - e.g. 'it was definitely worse than.....'

  23. We only know about this incident at all because this "sleazy gossip rag" got a hold of the story. Sincho apparently is going to release more info at some point this week so hopefully we'll find out the details.

  24. Okay, so... This is apparently hearsay from a member of nishonoseki's koenkai. Being said, basically anybody can join most stable koenkais if they have a japanese mailing address. I am taking this article with a dump truck load of salt. Just because they reported on the hokuseiho scandal doesn't mean they still don't post articles with false, malicious content.

  25. I hope so. But it's not the only time they're the first to cover something and what they said isn't entirely beyond the pale as, well, excessive drinking can often be somewhat like a hazing experience. Hopefully we'll hear more soon.

  26. You forgot to say that he was forcing his victim to drink while he was in the shower 😳

  27. I mean, I do some of my best drinking in the bath.

  28. They also definitely don't chain smoke, get drunk every night at hostess bars, or cheat on their wives.

  29. I giggled out loud. Damn, EE... Dank, true, and topical. I kept trying to figure out a Shrek drinking joke but it felt forced.

  30. Bruh, that’s NOT your classroom though, that’s someone else’s home. I agree YOU should not display political propaganda in your view screen, but calling a kid out for the decorations in their parents house was uncalled for.

  31. Not saying youre wrong, but that seems like a bit of a dangerous position to take.

  32. When are you watering - right when your lights come on? Is there a chance that you're pouring water onto the plants a little? They look fairly wet - are you letting them dry out thoroughly before you water again? In my experience, seedlings prefer things that way but older plants can stay pretty wet.

  33. These pictures are after a fresh watering. I always check the soil with a toothpick to see if not only the top soil is dry, but at least an inch under it is dry, too. I water them with roughly 50ml 2-3 times a week.

  34. Try watering in the morning. It looks like where the damage is, the leaves are leaning onto wet dirt in other pots. If you can space them out, that also might help a little bit. Good luck!

  35. Given its San Francisco, probably should have expected the theft. That sucks.

  36. Washington DC has far more larceny than San Fransisco. In fact, there's 15 states (counting the District of Columbia) with more larceny per capita than California at the moment:

  37. ...And does any of that say that San Fran doesn't have massive crime problems right now? Because nowhere in here did you say San Fran is safe, just that other cities, and other STATES for some reason, are worse.

  38. 10000% chance you'd never say anything like that if they were visiting any of the cities I already mentioned. You really think you'd jump to "Given its Memphis/Denver/Santa Fe, probably should have expected the theft. That sucks." Sure. Suuuuuuuuure. And I'm Gilgamesh Wulfenbach.

  39. Bluntly stated, one of the ramifications of an underfunded Federal immigration effort is that asylum cases can take 10+ years to process.

  40. I mean, yes - that's one of the biggest problems with immigration both from the people who apply for work visas / green cards in the traditional way as well as with migrants.

  41. Have you watched the video footage from NYC? They are literally complaining about not liking the food at the shelter and not wanting to leave swank hotels.

  42. Yes, I have. That case is where they were given certain incredibly good accommodations and then it was taken away. As much as they should be grateful for whatever they're offered, you're telling me that if you were given a luxury quality room and then told you're moving into a shack, you wouldn't be upset at all?

  43. I guess so but that fight has been going on for months

  44. Any escalation of tensions in the Middle East alone increases costs at the pump. Russia also is having a harder time producing gas to sell elsewhere because Ukraine hit a bunch of oil refineries in the last month or so. Also in the last month or so: OPEC announced they're keeping the plans for production cuts they had previously announced in the last couple months, the US increased crude oil and gasoline stock while oil production ever-so-slightly slowed here, and the Federal Reserve is holding on cutting short-term interest rates - which also can affect oil pricing. It's also a warmer season now so prices generally go up as more people are out driving and they don't have the "winter mix" gas from a few months back.

  45. Next up: a hurricane in the Gulf that is forecasted to get within 500 miles of a refinery

  46. Oh 100% that as well... But like, it also kinda sorta isn't some spectacular new thing. As

  47. Beauty! ...I really hope it becomes a thing to make smaller and smaller dangos. Then maybe we can popularize the opposite and see someone make a car-sized dango.

  48. Naw, my partner would say "YOU BETTER NOT BE GROWING EVEN MORE WEED, MISTER!"

  49. You compared stealing a rotisserie chicken to raping and murdering children, yet you wonder where you lost readers.

  50. That is not at all what I wrote / intended to explain but clearly it confuses you and some others, so let me clarify:

  51. I've had pro-Palestine people tell me terrorism against Jewish civilians is reasonable so there you go.

  52. Did they say it was reasonable or that they understand why they're resorting to that? (I'm not saying I don't believe you - I've seen plenty of cringe takes on politics.) I ask it though because I also think that stealing is wrong but when some poor guy sneaks a package of chicken out of a grocery store to feed his hungry family, that's reasonable too. Not right, but reasonable and I understand why it happened... But if I was inarticulate, I might say "Poor people should be able to just steal stuff if they need it," which is an awful take.

  53. I make something very similar but typically add a bunch of extra herbs, celery salt and mix with tomato juice, maybe some clamato, instead of water. Found pouring it over ice and drinking it was much more helpful to my mood when sitting in the garden. /s

  54. Intriguing. I'm not certain where they enter the yard from, but I know where they seem to like to hang out. I'm definitely down for spraying that area. Thanks for the advice!!

  55. Definitely cannot guarantee success but I've used this method to keep bunnies and deer away from some crops for a long time. It's literally the only reason I grow Carolina Reapers anymore - for more seeds and more fruit to dry out for infusing more alcohol for keepin' varmints away. (Also, it acts as a wonderful mace replacement or terrible party dare in a pinch.)

  56. I bet he doesn't even know how to use the three sea shells!

  57. Kirishima: between top and bottom right

  58. I disagree about Takakeisho. He's 100% into hamburger town.

  59. Naw, they don't eat McD's - he probably has his child sit with him for the first portions of all the Isegahama chanko. "You eat... What I eat."

  60. I hope that in May, Hoshoryu makes sure to grab extra salt for his throws - just for him.

  61. When that comic was in its last year of production, Enho was rising up the ranks and still kicking butt. He had made it to Makuuchi and was doing decently there to boot. I remember flipping out because if Enho managed to win a Cup, it would be like the manga predicted it. I was soooo hoping for that to happen but it just wasn't meant to be.

  62. Kiho’s height changes wildly depending on the source 167-173 cm. I find this with a lot of the smaller rikishi- some of them seem to have a sudden growth spurt in their mid 20s between bashos…

  63. Well Motomura is definitely gonna hit one since he hasn't hit 16 yet. It would genuinely be funny if he starts off as a little wrestler and then end up at like 185cm.

  64. It's boring and very poorly written... AKA we spend literal months of comic time to make a single day pass while there's about a zillion different storylines getting ignored (ex: the wedding). QC keeps bringing in new characters with their own storylines that are frustratingly bad... He's not setting up something bigger or cooler down the line and the things Horf does set up are so obvious that everybody calls it from YEARS away sometimes.

  65. Thanks! My girlfriend said she wants one eventually to be put in a necklace somehow, I just don’t think I can make one smaller

  66. You'd have to figure out how to coat it in resin or something to hold it together.

  67. Did you miss the President who publicly called to privatize the postal service? Obama! Now, let me see, was he a Repu..b..l, wait, wait, I remember, he was a DEMOCRAT! You are a tool that is brainwashed beyond comprehension. Get with the times. Sincerely, a realist.

  68. President Obama Compares Government Run Health Care to the Post Office "Always having problems" (youtube.com)

  69. How to tell you're a bot and or part of the troll brigade (are you paid in borscht or just social credit score?):
