1. It makes sense, and so does just making it so that goblins and orcs never existed. Just make sure to be up-front about this since you're banning a PHB race (half-orcs), while most players come in expecting that at the very least everything in the PHB is on the table.

  2. Have a rival sorcerer show up. The sorcerer has the exact same build as the player (usually a bad idea but in this case it's meant to teach a lesson), but this sorcerer uses anything but fire bolt.

  3. There are different excuses for the art style change that have been used, ranging from "it's less prone to technical errors" to "CGI is more dynamic" to "CGI will be more marketable to French and American audiences". I'm willing to believe the first one since I'm not an animator, and I feel like the second one can go either way. The third one, though, I feel is bs. Kids have been watching 2D cartoons since the nearly the start of animation.

  4. The fact that the bone arm scene was apparently a sex scene went over my head, so I could be wrong, but no. I don't think there was any smut in Nona.

  5. NAH - thought crimes aren't a thing, and you haven't voiced them to her.

  6. Maybe each soul is aligned with one specific skill (i.e. Bob the Farmer's soul is Nature-aligned, while Joe the Wizard's soul is Arcana-aligned). During a long rest, you can call upon a soul and gain its power, which will give you proficiency in that ability, or expertise if you already have proficiency. During the next long rest, you lose access to that soul.

  7. Pick one of those 9 people and train them as a DM asap. Then, you have a group of 4 and they have a group of 4.

  8. At lower levels, monks are very weak - our monk got knocked out in every fight before she got ki points. After that, she was a powerhouse, but that was partially because I gave her double the amount of ki points (and even then she was cautious about using them).

  9. None. Preferred MC is the reader but I hate seeing this why-slash-en everywhere because that's how I read it in my head and it sounds stupid. Same for second person. No writer can tell me what I think and what I would do in a situation.

  10. I'm guessing that there is almost never more than one female character (or character who uses she/her pronouns) in your preferred fanfics? Because otherwise, using third person and no name could get confusing rather quickly.

  11. The only way I'm gonna dislike you writing an essay about my fic is if you're writing about why my fic sucks and/or I'm a terrible person for writing it.

  12. Grab a copy of one of the starter sets, such as Lost Mines of Phandelver or Dragon of Icespire Peak. Those are written as easy first-time-DM box-sets.

  13. I participated in Battleship, a gift exchange that is also a time-dependent team-based challenge. I wrote a fic to fulfill two separate challenges, but I was unhappy with it. Thus, I made a second gift for the same person to fulfil a different challenge.

  14. What is a coffeelock exactly? A special kind of sorlock?

  15. Yep! It's dependent upon how warlock spells slots regenerate on a short rest, while sorcerer spell slots regenerate on a long rest. The coffeelock takes 8 short rests instead of a long rest, and towards the end of each short rest they convert their warlock spells into sorcery points. During the day, they convert their sorcery points into spell slots they can use to cast their sorcerer spells as needed.

  16. Not monotheistic as in one god. More like monoreligious. I've yet to see a dnd setting that has different cultural groups that all have mutually exclusive ideas about how the world came to be and functions. Pretty hard to do when gods are around and present rather than invisible or non existant. You want to know how the world came into being, just ask the guy who did it, easy peasy.

  17. With the way I roll in combat, I would be tempted to get a loaded D20 - not because I want to kill my players, but because I am cursed such that I roll really well in combat and no other time.

  18. Primarily here for the VTT stuff since i don't play in-person, but damn the detail on that STL mini is good

  19. I wrote a fic focusing on a woman who struggled with dissociation and became mute and/or nonverbal after traumatic experiences, and authors were recently revealed so I can now share it! (I'm not entirely sure what the difference between mute and nonverbal is, but she can't speak due to her vocal cords having been damaged. While she used to be a telepath, her abilities were blocked for 5 years and she's unable to form telepathic words.)

  20. I think mute is someone who is physically unable to speak, while non-verbal is someone who physically can speak, but they don’t (by choice, has special needs, etc.).

  21. I had suspected that much, but wasn't entirely sure based on what I know of selective mutism. Thank you!
