1. "The Changeling" (1980) starring the mighty George C. Scott. Without going into too much detail, it's a mix of a good old-fashioned haunted house movie and a decades-cold murder mystery.

  2. I like his expression. It's that of a man at a public ceremony in his honor, who suddenly realize he's GOT to fart. So he clenches his cheeks in preparation, hoping to let out a little frrt noise that'll be lost in the overall noise.

  3. It's not quite what you're looking for, but Catinca Untaru's role in Tarsem Singh's "The Fall (2006)" is amazing for it being her first ever role. She doesn't try to act like a precocious adult in a kid's body. Instead, she acts like you would expect a little girl like her to react.

  4. Actually, you should watch the 2002 version, and then go and read the original novel. Yes, it will be a bit antiquated due to being written over a hundred years ago, but it is without at doubt the BEST revenge story ever.

  5. Just rewatched that one, was surprised at how well it holds up.

  6. If you want a whole anthology of short (<20 minutes) movies, with a science-fiction or horror bent, then I will highly recommend the series "Love, Death, and Robots" on Netflix.

  7. We saw Iron Giant in the theater. I didn’t think it would make me too emotional. Then comes the “Superman” line and I just burst into tears.

  8. John Goodman. An absolutely brilliant and legendary career! One of my favorite actors.

  9. John Goodman is one of those actors who can just waltz on in and damn near steal the entire movie out from everyone else.

  10. Never seen the gambler but it sounds like the exact same plot as Rounders.

  11. Funny enough, it's a remake of a 1974 film starring James Caan instead of Marky Mark.

  12. The first movie mentioned that I haven't warch. I'm guessing you really liked it?

  13. It's about a soldier walking into the meat grinder which was the Pacific campaign between the US and Japan...without a weapon. His faith wouldn't allow it.

  14. Alastair Reynold's "House of Suns". Set in a time very far from now (about six million years hence), involving a murder mystery involving the murder of most of Abigail Gentian's clones, comprised of 1,000 'Shatterlings'. Two are left to figure out whodunit.

  15. "The Descent" is one of those 'Oh. No. NonononoNONONO" movies.

  16. Personally, I want to see what he has proposed on more than one occasion and get a bunch of history nerds together (Chieftain, Animarchy, etc.) then go on AliExpress and see if they can order parts to build a T-14 Tank.

  17. The point of the trick wasn't to prove Chuck was crazy. The goal of Jimmy and Kim's defense strategy was to paint Jimmy as a loving brother who, upon seeing Chuck in such a state of distress, would have said or confessed to anything to make his brother feel better, even if he was innocent. At the same time, they want to paint Chuck as unjustifiably hating Jimmy and taking advantage of his love and trust in an attempt to get him unfairly disbarred.

  18. If you love you some Tony Shalhoub (and you should) then watch "Monk".

  19. I haven't read them yet, but Tchaikovsky's books always gain high praise so you could start there.

  20. Anything with Sammo Hung in it is exactly what you're looking for. The dude is INSANELY fast and flexible, and not just in a 'for his size' way. He did a lot of team-ups with both Jackie Chan and Yuen Biao.

  21. Sammo has a bunch of great fights in it, but there's a real banger of a one between Jackie Chan and Benny "The Jet" Urquidez. Urquidez was a legit kickboxing champion.

  22. I’m partial to “A Night at the Opera” the stateroom scene is an all time classic. Whenever someone lists off a bunch of stuff I always say “… and two hard boiled eggs”. It makes me genuinely happy to think about those guys.

  23. If you don't mind 70s cheese, the Irwin Allen series of disaster movies might be for you.

  24. Funeral in Berlin (1966) - spy cat-and-mouse game set in Cold War era Berlin, with Michael Caine playing a very down-to-earth agent.

  25. A bit out of left field, but check out "Code of Silence" (1985). Yes, it's a Chuck Norris flick but it's more grounded than usual and it's also directed by the same guy who did "The Fugitive".

  26. I can't tell what song this is supposed to be
