1. I always love how the new leaves come shooting straight up

  2. Is this allowed? I’m too scared to take plants that are outside in public

  3. Would also tips if anyone has them! Apparently the one with the flowers often has yellow leaves

  4. The crown of thorns looks incredibly healthy and that one yellow leaf isn’t really a concern. Could just be an old leaf shedding, but it’s a very pretty specimen!

  5. Thank you so much! My grandmother is a total perfectionist with her plants so I’m not surprised. Really appreciate the id!

  6. No problem! Grandmas are so amazing when it comes to plants!

  7. Well, no, not for me. I think it all depends. Doesn’t mean you can’t get over it.

  8. How have you kept going with it for so long? I'm 27, and I'm already questioning if I can hold off long enough to outlive my parents.

  9. I lost my mom to Alzheimers. I think a lot of people, including myself before seeing my mom go through it, associate Alzheimers with forgetting who people are. I honestly wish that was the worst of it but it is SO much more horrifying than that. It literally effects everything from memory and speech to walking and eating. She knew she was changing. She knew something was wrong but it was impossible for her to understand what or why it was happening.

  10. I’m so sorry. It’s such a horrible disease to witness! Working in neurology for 7 years, I’ve seen some of the worst cases and fastest declines. We had a patient 2 years ago who suffered with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease (horrible combination) and he ended up shooting his wife point blank with a shotgun because he thought she was trespassing and didn’t know who she was; tragic story as he was well respected doctor. He ended up getting out of jail after a year because he’s terminal so it ended up being a compassionate release.

  11. I highly recommend these clips to have your vines climb and drape where you want!

  12. Where should I place this ? How much sun does this need and what’s the watering timeline?

  13. It needs to be in direct lighting, but you have to acclimate it first. Full sun is best, but start off in a shady area first then gradually move it in direct light. It’s also normal for succulents to turn more vibrant in color depending on their lighting conditions. As for watering, succulents need minimal water and can go quite a bit without, but only water when the soil is bone dry

  14. Sorry, I’m the only one that didn’t like it. Weird story about people turning into furniture?

  15. This is first post I ever pulled from rotten.com back in the 90s.

  16. It's actually pretty common for starters to run into poached plants. I did too then i got educated, hopefully you’ll too.

  17. I sure did. Now I’m wondering about all the other caudexs I do own..

  18. It looks like it to me in that link lol what is that cactus then?

  19. I wouldn't know where to start, if I did suggest one type I'd be living to you. I can only suggest that this one is not a peanut cactus because I have a peanut cactus. As someone else mentioned, they are much smaller bodied than this variety.

  20. Oh ok. Sometimes it’s really confusing to me since there’s so many similar looking varieties. Even tho I collect philos, ID can be challenging sometimes because some look wayyy too similar. I feel like cacti are more broad

  21. Okay thanks guys. The label on the pot says monstera little sister but the plant passport says tetrasperma 🙈

  22. Monstera little sister. That’s a new name for this 😂 “mini monstera” “monstera Ginny” how many names they gonna come up with 😂

  23. I’ve also seen Monstera Minima, Philodendron Ginny, Philodendron Minima and Swiss Cheese plant.

  24. Unstable variegation. Doesn’t look like it’s fully reverting though

  25. Is it just a cutting? I would lay it in a sphagnum moss container to root and encourage growth more quickly. Root hormone is good too if you have it

  26. Won’t really know for sure unless you check the roots. Spider plants get incredibly root bound even when they look like they’re not. By eyeing from the plant and pot, it looks to be fine, but any declination is worth taking the plant out the pot to check.

  27. It doesn’t bother me too much because on my profile it lists my nationalities which are pretty unique, so I just take it as some people want to know my cultural background. The question I hate right off the bat is, “what do you do for work”? Why is this the first thing asked to me like people are trying to pry in how much money I’m making for myself and comes off pretty shallow. I never ask people that because it doesn’t matter to me.

  28. Tradescantia “Purple Heart”. Brighter lighting conditions will make the plant deep purple

  29. You can’t. Doesn’t have chlorophyll to sustain itself. You’d have to regraft
