1. The Primes - Morning Light Mountain has entered the chat.

  2. Yeah, totally. MLM was really well written and it explained its lack of empathy and inability to negotiate even when faced with potential extinction.

  3. My favorites by Hamilton are Pandora’s Star and Judas Unchained, and I think they’re what you’re looking for. Excellent world building with great explanations of how we got from here to there. They’re also really well-paced, which is something that is kind of rare in sf series with an in-depth universe.

  4. I'm just about finished Judas unchained and both have been excellent. I really laughed when someone on here suggested that Peter Hamilton is a bit 'horny' as a writer. As I'm nearing the end of these books I think that that description sums it up perfectly to me (don't get me wrong, it's obviously not all like that, but he does like everyone having a lot of sex!).

  5. Honestly dude, I picture everyone in those books like insanely attractive because everybody seems to wanna have sex with everyone else. The future is apparently a very sexy place.

  6. I have both proof of transfer and WhatsApp messages. Also messages he eventually sent to my h husband when the secret was out

  7. Sorry I missed that part in the intro. So your husband/partner is aware of this situation? I would base any future actions on how he wants to proceed, and use that as a baseline if where you want to go i.e. Is he OK with it??!!! .

  8. The poor mum and dad have now lost both their sons. Terrible outcome.

  9. Weird thing to be DV for. Oh well.

  10. 'It's a fragile planet from up here.. The ocean almost looks like ceramic.'

  11. Lymes disease is also very similar to LC, so if you're an outdoorsy person then this could be attributable to a bite from a tick. Might be worth thinking about depending on your location and outdoor pursuits.

  12. Thanks so much for your detailed reply. I’ll definitely be checking out the other subreddits. Seems like rest is basically the only real solution so I’ll try not to push myself. It’s just hard because some days I feel okay so I wanna do more but then it always comes biting me in the butt.

  13. Yep, I totally understand. I walked home one night because I couldn't get the bus, wasn't even far but for 3 weeks since, I've not been able to leave my house! Feckin mental. The thing that also makes it hard, is that you don't look ill generally, so your friends and family become sceptical that anything is wrong.

  14. He’s the delivery guy. He made the delivery. It’s not his job to watch the kid or judge some family’s eating habits.

  15. Uberguardian.. Coming soon to a town near you.

  16. You are one porn mag and a walk through the woods away from being the change you want to see in the world. Don't forget to post it to that sub.

  17. IIRC the original image had a sign below the table (for those that didn't click on the image - it shows a child's head and some body parts) and the sign was a price list (?) for the 'meat' and it was believed to be one of their children. Poor fecker really drew the short straw on that one.

  18. Battlestar Galactica is way better than the book of Mormon probably.

  19. That's gone completely over my head.. Lol. What does Galactica have to do work the book of Mormon?

  20. Glen Larson, creator of Battlestar Galactica was a Mormon and used themes of Mormonism in the plot. Don't know the details but the whole "lost tribe" thing is one I think.

  21. Holy shit, had no idea about this. Thanks for the info. I watched the OG BG as a kid and never recognised the themes.

  22. Hilarious! You either force him to admit he lied or he has his own set of rumours following him around. Perfect revenge, you shouldn't feel bad. If he can make up fictional stories about you, why can't you do the same?

  23. Hey, exactly! it's OK for him to completely bullshit about his sex life but not for her.

  24. I'm old and I don't know what it means and I kinda don't want to. I sure as hell am not googling that

  25. Mibbe they mean the feckin bonfire night 'riots' which have escalated over the last few years and have emboldened a lot of young uns.

  26. I legit do not think he remembers me, which is hilarious.

  27. I mean, I may have forgotten a drunken smooch with a girl in a dark night club while slightly inebriated before. ..

  28. I normally think the phrase 'do better' is really fucking condescending and annoying, but tbh it absolutely hits the spot in this scenario. What a pair they are.

  29. It's like a quote from Disco Elysium!

  30. I totally love the way they have 'anonimised' the baby with a tiny black line hiding its eyes.

  31. I don't come to Reddit for news personally, I've loads of other sources for that eg The Edinburgh Minute so I wouldn't post something just on the basis that it's news. Just my thoughts, other people might have other reasons.

  32. What's the Edinburgh minute like if you don't mind me asking? Worth checking out and subscribing?

  33. I just get the free version at the moment but I get it every morning and it's a great roundup of local news.

  34. Well, this ended in a way that surprised no one.

  35. It's a truly sad tale which unfortunately we've seen a thousand times before.. Especially on this sub!

  36. Maggie is a fookin legend in my eyes.

  37. Nah, he was just joking mate. Perfectly encapsulates the Aussie sense of humour.

  38. Looks like the Android Bishop in Alien when he's spewing out that white fluid.

  39. Iain M. Banks, either start the Culture cycle (with Consider Phlebas) or read The Algebraist, which is a standalone novel but has a lot of the vibes common to the Culture universe.

  40. Read all of Banks' stuff, but not read Reynolds.. Might just check him out after this recommendation! Ty!

  41. Anything with Iain M Banks tbh! Love it all.

  42. The thing that bothers me the most about the comments is how so many people see a man's decrease in sexual attraction to his partner as essentially a moral failing on his part.

  43. I'm older, (as is my gf) and I am hugely attracted to her and i love her completely. I think she is super hot.

  44. I read your reply intently. I'm currently losing a ton of weight (deliberately - 15kg to go) and I'm resigned to needing excess skin removal and possibly a breast lift once all is said and done. My brain in constantly questioning whether my husband would just rather the fat me back, or if he'll be OK with it being done because the skin folds are already difficult to deal with and the boobs have just up and left like they're deflated balloons...

  45. Hey, well done on your journey! Takes a lot of willpower!

  46. Penguin Cafe Orchestra? That’s what I was hoping for. :-)

  47. Yeah, I thought so too, although the tables at the side of the pic are a tenuous link to café.. Lol
