1. It's happened before even in polarizing cases like anything involving 45. It's a dangerous game because it could open up a slam dunk appeal.

  2. Could also go the other way. A single die-hard MAGA juror could let him walk regardless of the evidence.

  3. That’s the unfortunate reality of North American sports. Billionaire owners play cities and their residents against each other, wanting us to hate the others while they make off with absurd money. Winnipeg fans did nothing wrong, Quebec fans did nothing wrong, Phoenix fans did nothing wrong. We should all be able to watch the game we love

  4. Not just sports, that's just the unfortunate reality of billionaires. Pit large groups of people against each other to keep them too busy to realize they're all collectively being fucked so one guy can buy a bigger yacht. Leverage politicians to create rules in your favour. Bully people who try to make you abide by rules and contribute to your community instead of rolling around on a mountain of gold like Smaug.

  5. WNBA pay is trash (she’s making 80k a year yet Gainbridge Fieldhouse where the Fever and the Pacers play sold out 17,000 seats just so people can watch her be drafted) but apparently

  6. First, 80k a year coming out of college is far from trash. It's well above the average annual income.

  7. Trust Fund Baby Sam Reich? Founder of conservative news network Dropout USA?

  8. While I hear what you are saying about religion being a choice, and although I disagree, I would instead like to challenge your position that immutable characteristics should be the definition of a protected class.

  9. Physical ability isn't really immutable. You can absolutely improve your physical performance through training, conditioning, watching film, practicing, etc.

  10. For most situations with most reasonably healthy adults. However, there are limits to physical ability which are not mutable. Human bodies are different and not everything can be changed.

  11. There are upper limits to everyone's performance, and those limits aren't all equal. But where you sit in relation to your physical peak is very flexible and changes over time, which is the opposite of immutable. Everyone can change how much they exercise, what they eat, what their weight is, how fast they move, how much they stretch, how well they rehab injuries, etc. Things like your muscle mass, fat mass, flexibility, lung capacity, and heart strength are constantly in flux.

  12. The Argos are the Batman to our Joker. We hate them, but we'd be lost without them.

  13. I had a few friends that were mulling over coming last night, and I just said, "We want to run a murder mystery game," and that did the trick. Sometimes less is more.

  14. I heard a story that he defended a black high school classmate who was being bullied. I’m not sure if it’s true, but that certainly changes my perspective of him.

  15. To paraphrase Shane Gillis: It doesn't happen overnight. Your dad didn't just graduate high school and say, "Well, time to be a prick about everything now." It grows over time.

  16. Do you think it’s be different with just the base game?

  17. Base game is lower scoring than OE for sure. The nectar adds a whole new scoring mechanic while also making birds easier to play. Not to mention a bigger deck with more powerful abilities.

  18. You can say that your daughter is named after an obscure historical figure all you want, but if the first thing that comes up when I Google it is "ass stitches", that's exactly what other kids are going to see when they Google it.

  19. Tbf, who googles someone else’s middle name? I don’t think kids are likely to bother

  20. All it takes is one, and the kid will be bullied for years.

  21. For a solo BOTC experience, I just leave a bunch if cryptic and threatening messages around the house then stop taking my meds for a few days.

  22. Does being tall count? I'm apparently in the top 0.1%, odds are pretty good I don't roll a person taller than me. Other than that, I'll take anyone at Civ VI or foosball.

  23. Beer over 3% wasn't allowed until 2019. They've finally allowed 5% beers, but Utah has both very strict alcohol laws and not much of a drinking culture due to the high Mormon population. I can't imagine the nightlife is bumping when 60-70% of the state's residents are forbidden from drinking alcohol.

  24. Start a theme with the basketball team, go with Utah Ska.

  25. They'd probably use COL for Colorado AND Columbus

  26. Where is your sink? I couldn’t operate without a sink or some way to clean bar tools/ wash hands quickly

  27. They can't even support a CFL team, an NHL team anywhere in the maritimes is ridiculous.

  28. I get that this is supposed to be a joke, but Houston is nowhere near a desert, and the climate is way different.

  29. I don't get how it's so difficult for people to shut the fuck up during sex. Surely having a living breathing child in the next room hearing it would be enough motivation? Like, this image is sad

  30. Some people genuinely can't help it. I've lived in some shitty rental properties where the walls were so paper thin you could hear literally everything in the next room over as if there was a window between them. There's just no way to have sex in some houses where other people won't hear it.

  31. I've read a lot of books in my life. What's to stop me from quickly skimming books I already know and love and writing summaries on them? That's not against the rules as written. Between the Potter, Narnia, Rings, ASOIAF, Hitchhiker's, WOT, Sanderson, Heinelen, Asimov, LeGuin, King, Ellis, Girsham, Christie, random YA novels, and assorted classic novels, there are at least 100 summaries I can do mostly by memory. How much of the text do I really have to absorb? I can probably hit 365 in well under a year if I'm allowed to use books I already know well.

  32. The stereotype of all bartenders are alcoholics, all kitchen guys are potheads, and all (high end) servers have a coke problem isn't entirely true, but it exists for a reason. And no, they aren't all the best at their trade, but they're common enough that you're bound to yet some good ones with problems. This is a rough industry, you work bizarre hours, and you're surrounded by people partying. The temptations are very tough, but it's always better to take care of your body.

  33. Awfully enough, GRRMs original outline has Jon and Arya falling into a love triangle with Tyrion of all people.

  34. I think Arya and Sansa were the same character at that point and later got split, hence the Tyrion/Sansa marriage.
