Could be for a variety of reasons with how the fare is structured. Best guess is taking advantage of business travelers who don’t necessarily have a solidified return date.
What would happen if I buy a round-trip basic economy fare and am unable to travel on the return flight? Would I risk being banned from Delta just because my plans changed?
First step: don’t buy a basic economy ticket. Pay the extra money for main cabin or something that allows you to change. You can fly the outbound leg and rebook the return leg for a later date after.

I've long said that it is wild how Purdue doesn't have an Urban Outfitters or something similar nearby. Those seem so ubiquitous near other campuses.
There are a lot of stores Purdue doesn’t have that campus and the surrounding community could largely support and benefit from. Trader Joe’s is one place on my list.

Only problem with Schwab is that you can't deposit cash. I keep a Desert Financial account open for that and then do a transfer.
