1. What!? It was on the road course. And they drive the oval backwards. WTF?

  2. Brad's big break was when he subbed in the Germain 9 truck for Ted Musgrave while Musgrave was serving a one race suspension for wrecking a driver under yellow. I've heard Mark Martin lobbied Germain to give Brad the shot, and Brad won the pole, led 62 laps, and was leading with 10 to go when he got spun. The rest is history.

  3. And isn't it Mark's steller 2009 season that caused Hendrick to not have room for Brad because he was supposed to go to the 5? Mark got Brad his break and caused his move to Penske

  4. The same way the RNC gets unhinged Republican’s books on the best seller list. Nothing new. Just a new spin on an old grift.

  5. That's in no way just an RNC thing, that's pretty much the playbook now. Best seller lists have become jokes.

  6. And our hot rod brains cost more money to maintain, fix, insure, and fuel up

  7. It definitely was announced last spring. Would know. I live in NM and didn't want to pay the upgrade.

  8. It's an interstate highway link. So it's well within the Federal purview to make that claim the Feds will subsidize the rebuild.  It's gonna take 6-12 months just to get the broken bridge pulled out of the river.  Let alone to design and build a new one.  This is a $1.5b -$2b disaster. That will take 5+ years to fix.

  10. This is my feelings. I'm a forester and drive a big ol' Chevy truck out of necessity. 16mpg. Oof. But my partner and I live about 15 minutes out of our local core area - we live in rural New Mexico - and are working on going fully solar on our house. As soon as we do I'm shopping around for a cheap used EV - something like a Nissan Leaf or Chevy Volt. Their range is awful but it'd be our go-to-town car which we'd use nearly everyday. I need it to have a range of maybe 40-miles max a day with running errands in town but that's it. Charge it off the solar at our house. I think I can pick up a used one for under $4k. Even if the battery is towards the end of it's life it would still be good enough. Versus running the truck for short errands it's a no brainer to me.

  11. Abroginal Peoples belong to these lands. Some cattle ranches too.

  12. There was a period of time there that Penske didn't run the Indy 500 because of the split. 1997 - 2000. Overlaps with some of those late-prime career Rusty years.

  13. When I retired I lost my sense of who I was. I worked for multiple decades in the same field. On call and with a small staff of direct reports. Then in the course of 24hrs that all stopped.

  14. I'm setting myself/imagining similar thing for me. I'm set to retire with a state pension at 60 (still have 15 years to go though) along with some 401k and Roth savings, but I'm already imagining what I'd do.

  15. Dude half of that stuff you won’t be able to do well at 60. Should’ve done it you get instead of wasting your youth.

  16. I'm more of the "I have an appointment so I can't do anything else until I do that" type

  17. Afternoon appointments make me anxious and nervous. I'd just sit there all day and wait for time to pass.

  18. I feel this. I push as many appointments, meetings, phone calls, whatever to the morning as I can. I save the afternoon for dedicated work time as often as possible.

  19. "I don't want to be late so I won't do anything that could maybe make me late."

  20. Hey, wondering if you had any update on how you like this set up?

  21. Jemez Mountains 50m in May in New Mexico. Nice mountain run in the Jemez mountains outside of Los Alamos.

  22. Just use your area code + Jenny's number if you don't want to give a company your digits for rewards.

  23. I use the Call 'n Oats number for this. It's the Hall and Oats Emergency Helpline.

  24. Likely no, but you should check it out before the season. The amount of smoke and dust you'll inhale this season may have some serious consequences if there's some underlying issue.

  25. Hold up. There's a big key difference that's written right there in the SC ruling. Trump is running for national office and this dude was running for local office. The SC did not say that Trump couldn't be kept off the ballot for insurrection, they said that Colorado or any other state couldn't make that distinction since it's a Federal office and Federal election. They said only the Federal government could do that.

  26. This is David Pearson running a full season numbers level of greatness haha.

  27. I'm pretty sure I remember RP somewhere saying that Pearson is really the best there ever was. The number of wins and championships aren't how the two should be compared.

  28. I'm a NEPA Coordinator for a private consulting firm, but I work exclusively on FS projects. I'm a former field supervisor - not quite practicing forester but similar time in the field. Former FS and NPS seasonal. My previous few jobs were field operations for NGOs that worked on FS implementation projects. Started the NEPA job two months ago and am remote.

  29. I'm 34 and still do this. My sticker collection is extensive but I'm still waiting on finding just the right spot to place them.

  30. I can relate. I have a big box FULL of stickers I cannot place. The only place I can ever stick some of them is in my journal.

  31. I just recently lost my water bottle that I had covered in stickers. I'd had it for 15 years. I was sad but it meant that I could get a new water bottle and suddenly have a place for a dozen new stickers!

  32. Truex hasn’t finished in the top 5 at Bristol since 2011 that’s insane

  33. Sure, but he did win one of the races on dirt
