1. All nitrogen can burn the lawn. The reason dog pee kills your grass is because it contains urea, and they all pee on the same spot as the last dog.

  2. Very true. I’ve learned much since I posted this 4 years ago

  3. 100% there with you. The usual response I get to my moaning is "You knew what you was marrying" 😂😂

  4. Has anyone buried their pipes in the ground, then run the vertical runs inside the raised beds, instead of outside? Trying to keep it as neat as possible and protect the lines. Any advice? Thanks.

  5. Yea I’ve seen lots of videos of people doing that.

  6. You should spend some time observing a family with 4 kids. As a teacher I have had some kids who were the youngest of four. They can be the chillest, most easy going ready for anything kids, because they have grown up just getting dragged around and needed to learn to adapt.

  7. Yes, all things considered she’s pretty chill and goes with the flow pretty well. I may do a brief 2 nap time this summer and try to switch her to just one large afternoon nap when school starts up after summer.

  8. I definitely had some frustrating moments when the older child's activities didn't match up with what my younger wanted to be doing. It is a classic parental frustration to struggle to get a 2 year old to take a desperately needed nap only to suddenly realize that you need to go pick up the older child from school.

  9. I need some background on the backup issue. Are you using septic safe flushable wipes? They are not septic safe in my experience. Are feminine hygiene products or prophylactic birth control devices being flushed? Both these will clog a filter or backup a system. Short of an improper install, excessive amount of rain, or flushing anything other than tp and excrement, a 3 yo system should not backup or fail. Filters can be removed and cleaned or replaced but your tank will need to be pumped to access the filter. I've never seen a properly installed septic system fail or need maintenance 3 years after install. I've been installing and repairing septic systems for 18 years.

  10. The backups were determined to be “too good/too thick/too much toilet paper”.

  11. For about the last ten years or so, all the designs I've installed have an alarm float in the tank with the pump. If the power or pump fails the alarm sounds when an over full condition happens. We usually install the alarm near the panel box where the breaker for the pump is. I also recommend Ridx twice a year. My system in my house has been functioning properly for 10 years since my last pump. I wouldn't worry about the grass to much if the tank isn't backing up. If you do need the laterals in the leech fields serviced or replaced insist that a vertical clean out is installed at the end of each lateral. This is code in my state. Basically it will be a piece of PVC pipe barely exposed with a threaded end cap. If the laterals get obstructed you remove the cap and cycle the pump once to clear it, turn off pump and replace cap before turning pump breaker back on.

  12. Thanks for the tips and advice. I’m not sure ours has the same alarm if power is lost. It does if it backs up.

  13. Any tips for working out? Cant seem to not go low from a 20-30 minute bike ride or weight lifting

  14. Yikes! That’s an expensive test. Just learnt to taste the difference or have someone else check. I’ve become an expert over the years

  15. Doing fine now. Think it was dehydration from the cold snap we got

  16. good to hear, did you get a lot of dying branches/leaves?

  17. Had some defoliating, no major limb damage that I remember

  18. I'd just take the cut sheet and definitely add in the organs and oxtail.

  19. Yea. I take everything from the animal they will give me.

  20. We're not a big roast family, so I tend to get some of those ground. I'd also consider adding the Ox Tail. Again, not being a roast guy I wouldn't do it, but a rib roast is an impressive piece of meat for a special occasion. I have done this once and liked it, but I'm definitely a ribeye steak guy.

  21. I am warm and fuzzy! Baby loves some skin to skin with dad.

  22. Came here to say this. I don’t quite have the bosom of a woman, but everything else pretty much matches up. First born didn’t mind when I was more fit either

  23. Nope. F*** em. I’m not inconveniencing myself because of a medical need. Only go somewhere if you aren’t comfortable, not because of social norms or other people

  24. Ayayay well that's even worse to be honest but still, another dumb natural we have to jump through.

  25. Yea. I’m sure they both suck for different reasons.

  26. Keep going homie, we're all in it together. Good luck.

  27. Always happens as the worst time. Problem is I can feel it before it hits and it makes me more frustrated.

  28. On 140k, which is $11,600 and change- after all is said and done (taxes, insurance, etc) it looks like $7,800

  29. I planned on laying down some Sulfer. Maybe I’ll prep the area throughout winter so I can get it right in the spring

  30. Yea you can put sulfur down, but still hit your county ag extension for a soil ph test. Usually less than $5 and will help you give proper treatment. All of fruit trees you can wing. Blueberries are not one of them

  31. Awesome I appreciate the feedback! Lastly, what if I bought myself a soil tester. Do you think I’d better benefit from having it professionally done?

  32. No, those things are junk. All of them. Get it professionally done

  33. Oops! Youre right, it's 29% per cherry.

  34. Still seems high. Although google says about 2 mg per cherry, the recommended vitamin c is between 70-100 mg daily. I’ve also got barbados cherry growing m. I know it’s vitamin rich also.

  35. Heads up: They can have 100% 29% of your daily vitamin C in one cherry.

  36. In one cherry? I know they are rich in vitamins but that seems a smidge of a stretch.

  37. Hello,I'm in a new construction neighborhood and the HoA and the builder have denied fixing the hill behind our home in terms of erosion control or esthetics. The hill is a large clay hill with a few trees planted. This past season mostly crabgrass and a few weeds grew on the hill but have died after the first frost. I was wondering if there was an economical way I could fix this my self with seeds and wanted to know the best way to go about it.

  38. What are your kids interests? We’ve been working on the same thing. There are so many travel games available , it’s crazy. So many card games also.

  39. The best side hustle is something you enjoy as a hobby, turned part profit. I see it as - if it doesn’t turn into money, at least you still enjoy it.

  40. That’s awesome! We have a few different fruit trees(pears, apples, grapes, a young peach tree) and plant a garden, too. It’s great working together with the kids in the garden and you all learn so much solving the pest problems, watching the bugs, observing the male and female flowers of squash plants, composting and soil needs, pruning, picking, canning, teaching healthy eating and recipes, teamwork and striving for a common goal, etc.
